Gundam Celebrates Special Anniversary With a One-Night Event

This year marks a significant milestone for the Gundam franchise, with Sunrise Studios and Bandai Namco commemorating the occasion through a special one-night event. Back in October 4, 2015, they premiered the first episode of “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans”. Unlike any other Gundam series, this 2015 anime series centered around a group of teenage mercenaries struggling to find their place in a gritty world. The mobile suit designs were revolutionary for the time, showcasing machines with slimmer and longer body structures compared to previous iterations. “Iron-Blooded Orphans” made a huge impact on the anime scene when it debuted in 2015, quickly becoming one of the most discussed shows from the mid-2010s.

The 50-episode run of the series concluded in April 2017, but it continued to be popular through spin-offs and model kits. As part of the celebration for the 10th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, a live recording of the official Tekkadan radio show is scheduled at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. Additionally, a full-night screening of the entire series will take place at this venue starting 11:30 PM on October 3rd, exactly ten years after its premiere on Japanese TV. The live recording will involve several actors from the anime. Furthermore, Sunrise and Bandai have reshared creditless endings and openings of the show on YouTube.
