How soon is too soon for a remake?
IGGYMOB feels it’s been long enough since the release of Gungrave G.O.R.E. in 2022 to now fully remake Blood Heat.
Although we don’t know when it will be released, the developer says this version is a major upgrade to the original game, built using Unreal Engine 5. It aims to capture the spirit of the series while providing a fresh experience designed for today’s computers and consoles.
While visual updates are expected, the developer has focused a lot of effort on making combat feel smoother, faster, and more animated. The previous game, Gungrave G.O.R.E., received a fairly low score of 4/10 in our Push Square review.

Here’s what the press release says:
Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat is a completely rebuilt version of the original Gungrave G.O.R.E, bringing back the iconic gunslinger. The Gungrave series is a long-running action shooter known for its intense gun battles, cool visuals, and dramatic story of revenge. It’s been a fan favorite since the early 2000s.
It seems the team gained valuable insights while making the first game, and they’ve used that knowledge to completely rebuild it for this new version. Hopefully, they’ll nail the gameplay this time around.
