I’ve noticed he’s really known for those tough, realistic gangster movies, but honestly, he’s a surprisingly versatile director. He’s made some great films in all sorts of genres, even adventure! And while critics weren’t wild about it, his film actually did really well on streaming, which is awesome.

This action movie centers around two long-separated siblings who team up for a worldwide treasure hunt to locate the legendary Fountain of Youth. The story promises an exciting adventure where they’ll use historical knowledge to follow clues, potentially changing their lives forever—and maybe even granting them eternal life.
The film was directed by Guy Ritchie and written by James Vanderbilt, known for his work on films like Zodiac and The Amazing Spider-Man. John Krasinski and Natalie Portman star as the leads, with Eiza González and Domhnall Gleeson also featuring prominently. Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo, and Stanley Tucci round out the cast in supporting roles.

The film debuted directly on a streaming service, preventing it from earning back its $180 million production cost. Filming took place in numerous locations worldwide, including Warner Bros. Studio in Leavesden, as well as Bangkok, Liverpool, and Cairo.
What’s Next for Guy Ritchie?
Guy Ritchie is working with Eiza González again in his new action thriller, In the Grey, which is set to release in 2026. The film also stars Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal, both of whom have worked with Ritchie before, and Rosamund Pike, who is joining his group of regular actors for the first time.
I’m really excited to hear that he’s working with Pike again! She’s fantastic, and she’s leading a great cast in this new dark comedy called Wife & Dog. Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Hopkins, Cosmo Jarvis, and Paddy Considine are all in it too – it sounds amazing!
Ritchie is preparing to direct a new project. This will be his sixth time working with the same team, and they’ll be adapting J.J. Connolly’s novel Viva La Madness, which continues the story from Connolly’s earlier book, Layer Cake. He’s also directing another upcoming series that returns him to the world of detective stories, following his 2011 film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
