Gwyneth Paltrow Says She Was Sewn Into Side-Slit Dress for Oscars 2026

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Oscars look was hanging on by a thread—literally.

Apparently, the star of Marty Supreme is so passionate about fashion that she actually asked to have her Arman Privé gown sewn onto her body for the 2026 Academy Awards.

While on a FaceTime call with her daughter, Apple Martin, and Chris Martin as she prepared for an award show—captured in a behind-the-scenes video posted to Goop’s YouTube channel on March 17—Gwyneth explained she was having her dress fitted so tightly she wouldn’t be able to use the restroom while at the event.

Gwyneth described her white dress to her daughter as both simple and pretty, but it had a surprising twist. From the front, it appeared to be a standard strapless gown. However, when she turned, revealing large side slits, it showcased sparkling sheer panels and tulle pants worn underneath, giving it a subtly alluring look.

The outfit created a stunning effect, and when someone on her team complimented Gwyneth, calling her look “amazing,” she was speechless and didn’t know how to respond.

She completed her look with skincare from Goop, and Owen Gould styled her hair for a chic, simple finish.

Her outfit was completed with a stunning diamond necklace and earrings, courtesy of Tiffany & Co., which were delivered to her hotel room in their iconic blue boxes.

Before the Oscars, where Marty Supreme received nine nominations, Gwyneth finished getting ready by taking photos in her beautiful hotel room, recording some questions and answers for social media, and ensuring her team had plenty to eat – she even encouraged them to take the leftover bento boxes home.

She also expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming results and highlighted the many impressive film nominations.

When Gwyneth asked Apple who she liked best among the nominees, Apple immediately said, “Definitely Marty Supreme.”
