After a decade of waiting, a new installment in the long-running .hack series, titled .hack//Z.E.R.O, has been revealed. This time, the game is being developed and published entirely by CyberConnect2.
CyberConnect2 is reviving “The World,” the online game featured in .hack//Z.E.R.O., with permission from Bandai Namco, who owns the rights. Unlike previous .hack// games on PlayStation 2, which mainly focused on what happened inside the game, this new version will explore how the game affects players in the real world. We’ll see much more about the impact “The World” has on people’s lives – something that was previously just hinted at in the game’s backstory.
.hack//Z.E.R.O blends exciting action and adventure with role-playing elements. It revisits the idea of a world within a game, and offers a gameplay experience that’s as immersive and time-consuming as playing the game itself.
.hack//Z.E.R.O, created by a mix of experienced developers and fresh new talent, promises to deliver both a familiar and exciting experience. Although we don’t know when or where you’ll be able to play it yet, the game’s trailer – featuring music by Taro Hakase – is already getting fans excited! Check out the first teaser below and join the hype!
