Tier List Commentary
Medea is Still the Best
It’s no surprise that the Aspect of Medea for Revaal is currently the strongest choice. This Aspect has consistently been a top performer throughout the game’s Early Access, and that continues to be true even with the full 1.0 release!
The primary reason this is so effective is the amazing balance of movement and powerful attacks it provides. This makes it a top choice for players who want to quickly defeat all enemies, and it’s widely considered the best Aspect for completing the game as fast as possible. Once it’s fully upgraded, its damage potential is unmatched!
The main drawback is its size and complexity, meaning it takes some skill to use effectively. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll probably find it difficult to switch to anything else.
Other Standouts
Besides Medea (Revaal), we also want to highlight Circe (Descura) and Melinoë (Descura). Both characters are incredibly adaptable and enable really strong magic-focused gameplay, so you’ll have a great experience with either one. They don’t require specific Blessings to be effective, making them relatively straightforward to play.
Anubis (Descura) is particularly noteworthy as the most well-hidden Aspect. It’s a little unusual, so it requires some practice to master, but its distinctive abilities enable incredibly strong character builds. If you acquire Flame Strike or Heaven Strike for it, you’ll likely achieve an easy win!
Likewise, Moros (Ygnium) is a relatively simple Aspect to achieve victory with. It needs strong Magick and well-timed Channeling, but when paired with the Clean Coil upgrade, you’ll be defeating enemies quite easily.
Lower Tiers Are Disappointing, But Not Worthless
We want to emphasize that even the characters in the lower tiers aren’t completely useless. You can still play effectively with even the D-tier characters, and some players have even achieved success with them at higher Fear ratings! Therefore, if you enjoy a character, don’t let this tier list discourage you from playing them.
The reason these characters are ranked lower is simply because they aren’t as strong as those in the higher tiers. They clearly can’t match the high damage output of characters like Medea (Revaal). Beyond that, some of these lower-ranked characters just don’t offer enough benefits to justify picking them when considering the current meta.
For instance, Melinoë (Xinth) is quite restrictive and primarily centers around Wave Strike builds that inflict Splash damage. Furthermore, you’ll require both Exhaust Rider and the Legendary King Tide Boon from Poseidon. It’s just too narrow in scope and depends too much on chance, especially when compared to stronger builds! Builds in the lower tiers all share these kinds of weaknesses, which is why they are ranked where they are…
Even so, here’s our ranking of every weapon Aspect in Hades 2 version 1.0, going from the strongest to the weakest. We hope this guide helps you choose which Aspects to prioritize!
