Halle Berry is famous for playing the first live-action Catwoman in her own movie. Now, over 20 years later, she’s showing her love for cats again! The Oscar-winning actress recently shared some adorable photos of herself with kittens, proving she’s a real-life Catwoman.
We’ve seen Halle Berry channel Catwoman not only in the 2004 movie, but also in 2021 when she posed wearing a new catsuit and also her Catwoman mask while holding rescue kitties. Her iconic character, Patience Phillips, may have been more of an anti-heroine. But Berry has unveiled what a true warrior she is in the cat community with her new Instagram post of her newest kitty rescues:

How adorable are these two cats! Berry is completely smitten with them, and she’s made it her personal goal to find loving homes for all the cats who wander into her yard. It’s a truly wonderful idea, as even the Catwoman herself would say – purrfect!

It’s disappointing that the Catwoman movie didn’t do well. It would have been great to see a strong, independent female superhero like her get the recognition she deserves in a solo film.
Despite a flawed script, negative reviews, and the absence of Batman, *Catwoman* was a critical and commercial failure. It received an incredibly low 8% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is often considered one of the worst films ever made. The movie was heavily criticized, even winning four Golden Raspberry Awards – including Worst Picture and Worst Actress – out of seven nominations.
Halle Berry initially disliked her film *Catwoman*, even jokingly accepting a Worst Actress award for it and thanking Warner Bros. for creating a “terrible” movie. However, years later, the *Monster’s Ball* actress revealed she actually enjoyed making the superhero action film, explaining she only criticized it because that was the general opinion at the time. She described the role as empowering and noted that the movie now has a more positive reception among fans.
While you won’t see Halle Berry dressed as Catwoman with a whip, she’s a true advocate for cats, often rescuing them in her community. She’s hoping to revive the *Catwoman* movie and give the character a better story, and fans can currently stream her original performance for free on Sling.
