Halo Studios recently revealed new third-person gameplay footage for Halo: Campaign Evolved, and also shared a complete playthrough of an entire mission. That mission, “Assault on the Control Room,” takes place right after “The Silent Cartographer” and is the longest one in the original game.
This means we’re getting 28 minutes of brand new footage played from the player’s perspective. The demo shows Master Chief driving a Scorpion tank with the UNSC Marines, as well as clearing buildings. We also see a lot of gameplay featuring the Wraith vehicle. While players of later games won’t be surprised, this is the first time this kind of gameplay has been shown from the original campaign.
The game is visually stunning and incredibly detailed – from the way light reflects off weapons in dark scenes to the realistic shattering of glass when enemies are hit. Importantly, the game also seems to be running smoothly, which is a great sign so close to its release.
Good news! You’ll be able to play Halo: Combat Evolved very soon – it comes out on July 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. While you wait, you can watch a gameplay trailer showing it on PS5 Pro, or try out the three new Prologue missions that have been added to this updated version.
