Okay, so the next chapter in the Halo Infinite story is finally here, and it continues what started with the 2021 game. Halo is obviously huge for Xbox, but honestly, the series has been a bit all over the place for the last ten years or so. When Bungie handed things over to 343 Industries (now Halo Studios) with Halo 4, fans were pretty split on where the story was going. Halo 5 really caused a stir – the campaign felt short and kinda weak, and it ended on this massive cliffhanger that just left us hanging. Halo Infinite was a step in the right direction, but it still left a lot of questions unanswered, and we were all hoping for some DLC to finish things up… which, sadly, never came.
With talk of remaking the first three Halo games, fans are questioning whether a new Halo game – Halo 7 – will ever be made. Could the developers simply restart the story with a return to the original games? It’s a possibility, but Microsoft likely has the capacity to do both: remake the classics and continue the main Halo series. Whether they will is still uncertain, but Halo 7 still seems likely to eventually happen.
New Halo Book Is a Direct Sequel to Halo Infinite

Released this month, Halo: Edge of Dawn picks up right where Halo Infinite left off. It’s a novel that continues Master Chief’s story, and many fans see it as a sign that the studio is committed to continuing the Halo narrative. You can experience the story by purchasing the book or listening to the audiobook, which features voice actors Steve Downes and Jen Taylor returning as Master Chief and Joyeuse/The Weapon.
While Halo: Edge of Dawn doesn’t move the main story of Halo Infinite forward in a major way, it does give readers a better understanding of the connection between characters like Master Chief and Joyuse—the name The Weapon ultimately chose for herself. You won’t need to read it to enjoy future Halo games, but if you’re eager for more adventures with Master Chief, this book offers a satisfying story.
