Halo’s Worst Level Will Be Much Improved on PS5

Who remembers The Library in Halo: Combat Evolved?

Although the author was younger and more optimistic back in 2001, he still vividly recalls the exhausting journey through the bleak hallways while battling countless Flood enemies.

Bungie has thought a lot about this since the game came out and realized they should have managed the progression better.

The upcoming remake, Halo: Combat Evolved, offers an opportunity to address past issues, and creative director Max Szlagor recently shared on the Xbox Wire how his team plans to do so.

He explained:

Based on the positive response to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, we knew players wanted clearer directions, easier navigation, and more varied enemy fights. With the level ‘The Library,’ which has a lot of Flood enemies, we focused on improving the flow of the game and adding more details to the environment to tell the story. We did this by adding new lines for the character Guilty Spark to help guide players, and by including new dialogue that reveals more about what’s happening in the story as you play.

It appears Halo Studios is planning to expand on the game’s backstory in this part, while also speeding things up to keep players interested. We think that’s a smart move.

I’m so excited for the new version of the game! They’re adding four-player online co-op, which means they’ve completely revamped all the challenges and encounters to work with a team. Plus, they’re throwing in new weapons and vehicles to keep the gameplay feeling new and exciting, which is awesome!

Personally, we’re optimistic about the work that’s being put into this.

Even though the original Halo: Combat Evolved was incredibly important and groundbreaking, it could benefit from some updates and improvements now.

Here’s hoping these tweaks will really help elevate the experience to the next level.
