Harlan Coben’s new “mind-bending” thriller with Peaky Blinders star debuts gripping trailer

The first trailer for the upcoming Prime Video series, Lazarus, is now available. The show is created by Harlan Coben, known for writing Fool Me Once and Missing You, and Danny Brocklehurst, who worked on Brassic.

The trailer reveals Sam Claflin playing Joel Lazarus, a man who learns one of his patients believes he’s been communicating with God – and that God has requested Joel be punished.

I was completely floored when it came out that Joel’s dad, Dr. Lazarus – Billy Nighy plays him brilliantly – hadn’t died of natural causes, but had actually taken his own life. But Joel doesn’t buy it for a second, and honestly, neither did I. It kicks off this really gripping mystery as he gets pulled into these old, unsolved murders. And then things get *weird* – he starts seeing his father! He’s convinced his dad’s death is connected to the murder of his sister, something that happened a quarter-century earlier. It’s a fantastic setup, really pulls you in.

Alexandra Roach, David Fynn, Karla Crome, and Kate Ashfield also star in the series, playing Jenna Lazarus, Seth McGovern, Bella Catton, and Detective Alison Brown, respectively. All six episodes will be available to stream on Wednesday, October 22nd.

Actor Will Claflin, famous for his work in shows like Peaky Blinders and Daisy Jones & the Six, recently appeared in The Count of Monte Cristo. He’s also joining Kaley Cuoco in the upcoming mystery series, Vanished.

Interestingly, this project marks a departure for Harlan Coben, as it’s based on an original story idea rather than one of his popular novels.

Fans won’t have to wait long for more from Harlan Coben, as Netflix is already preparing a new series based on his novel, Run Away.

The series will feature a talented cast including James Nesbitt, Ellie de Lange, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati, and Jon Pointing, along with other notable actors.
