Harry Potter Characters Arrive at Iconic Series Location in New HBO Reboot Photos

In 1997, J.K. Rowling’s book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” was published in the UK, introducing readers to the captivating Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The following year, American audiences were introduced to the same magical world through the title “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” The story begins with Harry Potter, who is famously known as the Boy Who Lived, being placed on the doorstep of the seemingly ordinary Dursley family at 4 Privet Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey. There, Harry, aged 11, resides in a cupboard and receives numerous letters inviting him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, it’s not until the giant Rubeus Hagrid arrives that Harry embarks on an extraordinary journey into a world where nothing is as it initially appears.

The scene encompasses Platform 9 3/4 found at King’s Cross railway station in London, where Harry encounters the red-haired Weasley siblings – Ron (the first-year), twins Fred and George, Percy (the elder brother), Ginny, and their mother Molly. Prior to crossing through the magical divide connecting platforms nine and ten, they embark on the Hogwarts Express. The Daily Mail snapped images of this famous scene being shot for HBO’s Harry Potter TV adaptation, offering a sneak peek at the actors who have been newly cast as the Weasley family.

In a fascinating development, for the first time on camera, Harry Potter’s beloved character Ron Weasley, along with his family, was spotted filming at London’s King’s Cross Station. The station is being transformed to recreate the iconic Platform 9 and 3/4 scenes from the hit series as production for a new TV adaptation gets underway.

From the Burrow to the Barrier: The Weasleys Step Out in New Harry Potter Set Photos

In a charming nod to the magical world of Harry Potter, I’d like to highlight the portrayal of Ron Weasley (Alastair Stout), the youngest Weasley brother, in the movie under review. Unlike J.K. Rowling’s vivid description of him as “tall, thin, and gangly with freckles,” on screen, he appears alongside his adorable little sister Ginny (Gracie Cochrane). In the scene, Ron is seen pushing a shopping trolley, while nearby, matriarch Molly Weasley (Katherine Parkinson) is managing her rowdy twin boys, Fred and George (Tristan Harland and Gabriel Harland). Unfortunately, Hogwarts Prefect Percy (Ruari Spooner), who in the book was the first of the Weasleys to stride through the seemingly solid barrier between platforms, doesn’t make an appearance in this particular snapshot.

Earlier, during filming of a scene for Dudley’s birthday party at the zoo, Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter was captured in pictures together with his cousin Dudley (Amos Kitson), aunt Petunia (Bel Powley), and uncle Vernon (Daniel Rigby).

As a movie enthusiast, I was thrilled to catch a sneak peek at Nick Frost’s portrayal of Hagrid in full costume during a shoot with McLaughlin on London’s Borough High Street. It appears they were filming a scene where Hagrid guides the young wizard through the bustling Muggle streets of London, followed by their journey around Diagon Alley – the Leaky Cauldron, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, Flourish and Blotts, Eeylops Owl Emporium, and concluding at Ollivanders.

In my recent movie review, I’m excited to share that the stellar cast of this enchanting new Harry Potter series features Arabella Stanton and Lox Pratt portraying our beloved first-years, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy. Notably, Janet McTeer brings Professor Minerva McGonagall to life, while Paapa Essiedu takes on Severus Snape’s character. Lastly, the venerable John Lithgow steps into the shoes of Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

In 2027, the highly anticipated series “Harry Potter” is set to premiere on both HBO and HBO Max. The show has been skillfully written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, who has previously worked on shows like “Killing Eve,” “His Dark Materials,” and “Succession.” Additionally, the direction and executive production of this series will be handled by Mark Mylod, a professional known for his work in productions such as “Entourage,” “Game of Thrones,” and “The Last of Us.

As a cinephile, I can’t help but express my excitement about the current lineup for the Harry Potter cast! What do you think of the choices they’ve made so far? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
