Harry Potter Fans Will Get Wizards of Baking and Audible Series in November

Fans have a lot to anticipate! In addition to the new TV show coming to HBO Max, November will bring two more exciting releases set in the Wizarding World.

The popular competition series Wizards of Baking is back for a second season on November 2nd, airing on the Food Network. The show challenges talented pastry chefs to create incredible desserts inspired by the world of Harry Potter.

James and Oliver Phelps, the actors who famously played the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter films, host the show. In Season 1 of Food Network’s Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, talented bakers competed for the top prize. Judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef evaluated their creations, and the season included special appearances by Harry Potter stars like Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Warwick Davis (Griphook and Professor Flitwick), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley).

The team featured talented pastry chefs, some of whom you might recognize from baking shows like the popular Netflix series Is It Cake? – including season one winner Elizabeth Rowe, along with Miko Uy and Hemu Basumatary. The second season of the show promises even more new bakers and amazing desserts.

Season 2 will feature the return of the Phelps twins, along with chefs Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef. From the world of Harry Potter, Afshan Azad (Padma Patil) and Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan) will also be joining the cast, with Devon Murray being the only original actor from the films to reprise their role in this new series.

The second season of Wizards of Baking has six episodes, starting with a special two-hour premiere. Eight teams of two bakers will be sorted into Hogwarts houses using the Sorting Hat and will compete to create desserts that are both tasty and visually magical. Each week, the winning team will receive a benefit – either an advantage in the next challenge or the ability to hinder another team.

Season 2 of Wizards of Baking will feature a talented group of new contestants, including Alex Madrigal from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and Jenny Chambers from Salisbury, UK. Joining them are Andy Ortega (Yonkers, NY) and Stefan Rose (Yorkshire, UK), Angel Figueroa (Denver, CO) and Rui Mota (Lisbon, Portugal), Caitlin Taylor (Bowie, MD) and Jaleesa Mason (Bloomfield, NJ), Heather Tocco (Rochester, MI) and Kate Sigel (Nashville, TN), Marj Santaromana (Richmond, VA) and Sarah Arnold (Charleston, SC), Molly Robbins (Lancashire, UK) and Priya Winsor (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada), and finally, Jujhar Mann (Surrey, BC, Canada) and Katie Bonzer (Orlando, FL).

The Harry Potter Book Series Will Receive a New Audio Edition

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I’m so excited about this! Besides the new TV show, we’re getting a fresh take on the books themselves. Pottermore Publishing and Audible are teaming up to create a special edition of all seven novels, and get this – they’ve got over 200 voice actors involved! It sounds like it’s going to be an incredibly immersive experience.

Starting in November, a new audiobook series will release a novel each month through May 2026. The series boasts a fantastic cast, including Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall, and Cush Jumbo narrating the entire story.

The cast includes David Bradley as Professor Mad-Eye Moody, Kit Harington voicing Professor Lockhart, Iwan Rheon as Professor Lupin, and Gemma Whelan as Professor Sprout. Imelda Staunton will play Professor Umbridge, while Ruth Wilson (known from The Affair) is Bellatrix Lestrange. Ambika Mod, star of Netflix’s One Day, will voice Nymphadora Tonks, and Leo Woodall is Bill Weasley. Simon Pegg (from Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning) voices Arthur Weasley, and Matt Berry (What We Do In The Shadows) plays Sir Cadogan.

The new Audible series features Bill Nighy, the acclaimed British actor known for playing Rufus Scrimgeour in the 2010 film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. He will be voicing Professor Slughorn, the Potions master at Hogwarts during Tom Riddle’s time. Also joining the cast is , who served as the main stunt double throughout all eight Harry Potter films, and will voice the character Stan Shunpike.

The second season of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is coming back to the Food Network on November 2nd and HBO Max on November 3rd. Fans can also enjoy the first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which will be available on November 4th.
