Harry Styles‘ momis dropping a sign of the times amid his romance with Zoë Kravitz.
Anne Twist quietly showed her support for Zoë Kravitz by liking a video posted by British Vogue on Instagram. The video featured Zoë at the Saint Laurent fashion show in Paris on March 3rd.
Zoë, who began dating Harry after calling off her engagement to Channing Tatum in 2024, attended the event wearing a fitted brown turtleneck with see-through sleeves. She completed the look with high-waisted chocolate-colored trousers and a fur coat.
Although Harry Styles has been linked to both Olivia Wilde and Taylor Russell in the past, he hasn’t publicly commented on his relationship with the actress. However, he recently shared that he’s prioritizing his personal life more these days.
In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the former One Direction member shared his desire for a meaningful life filled with strong connections. He expressed wanting fulfilling relationships, close friendships, and a family, and realized he needed to actively work towards creating the space in his life for those things to happen, rather than simply hoping they would.
He also emphasized the importance of finding a supportive partner who can help him achieve his ambitions.
Harry explained that we’re often drawn to people who challenge us to become our best selves – they help us live up to the person we aspire to be.
Harry appreciates kindness and acceptance, but ultimately he wants to feel driven to improve himself.
Honestly, I just live for his work, and he said something amazing! He told me he wants to constantly improve, and he actually wants people to challenge him. He said when someone questions him, it’s not criticism, it’s a gift – like it helps him get even better! It’s just… incredible. I totally get it, though. I want to see him reach his full potential, and he’s embracing anything that pushes him there.

That’s why he’s been so touched by friends finding lasting love. He explained it as witnessing them bravely pursue something deeply satisfying and put their faith in the possibility of finding it.
He continued, “There just is a magic when you find the right person that you want to be with.”
For more little things about Harry, keep reading…

I’ve been a fan of Harry Styles for years, and I always loved learning about his background. He was born on February 1st, 1994, in Evesham, Worcestershire, to his parents, Anne Cox and Desmond Styles. He also has an older sister, Gemma, who was born in 1990 – she seems lovely too!
The family settled in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, when he was very young, and his mother, Anne, recalls his first word being “cat.”
Styles described his hometown, a village of around 5,000 people, as both “quite boring” and “picturesque.”

In his memoir, Dare to Dream, Harry remembered being unusually upset—he rarely cried—when his parents told him and his sister, Gemma, that they were getting divorced. He was seven years old at the time.
He admitted he hadn’t fully understood the situation at the time, but he was simply upset about his parents’ separation.
Des and Anne remained together for two more years. Then, Des moved out and Anne relocated with Harry and Gemma to Northwich, a rural area in Cheshire. Later, when Harry was a teenager, the family returned to live in Holmes Chapel.
Anne and Robin Twist got married in 2013 after being a couple for more than ten years. Her son, Harry, proudly walked her down the aisle and served as best man at the wedding.

Everyone who knew him said Harry was a lively, imaginative child who loved being the center of attention – a natural performer, whether he was singing or playfully running around in public. He thrived in school plays, and the classic rock music he shared with his dad – artists like Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Queen – really influenced his own musical preferences.
Louisa Jepson’s 2013 biography, Harry Styles—Every Piece of Me, reveals that Harry’s very first recording was of Elvis Presley’s “The Girl of My Best Friend,” made on a karaoke machine his grandfather gave him. As he grew up, he also became a big fan of bands like Coldplay, and artists such as John Mayer and Noel Gallagher.
Harry started playing music in a band around age fourteen. He originally wanted to play bass guitar, but since another member already filled that role, he became the singer instead. The band, called White Eskimo, won their school’s Battle of the Bands, earning a £100 prize and their first paid performance – playing at a wedding.
Anne told Now magazine in 2010 that her son has always been confident and enjoyed making people laugh. She believed from a young age that he was destined to perform.

Harry earned a little extra scratch—£6 an hour—working at W. Mandeville bakery on Saturdays.
According to his former boss, Simon Wakefield, he was the politest employee they ever had. Wakefield told the Mirror in 2013, when Styles came back to film scenes for the movie One Direction: This Is Us, that customers particularly liked him.
Mr. Wakefield explained that the shop became popular with young girls when Harry worked there. He recalled times when as many as twelve girls would come in at once, and even now, groups of around twenty often visit and take pictures. Harry was a dedicated employee, responsible for everything from serving customers and cleaning the back room to scrubbing floors, washing trays, and wiping down the counter.

Anne was the one who ended up sending Harry’s X Factor application in when he got cold feet.
When auditioning for The X Factor in spring 2010, the 16-year-old confidently stated, ‘People – usually my mum – tell me I’m a good singer.’ He performed Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ without any musical accompaniment. He also explained that if the judges, who could help him pursue a singing career, didn’t believe in him, it would be a significant obstacle to his dreams.
Harry didn’t advance to the final or even the second-to-last round for the boys, but the show’s producers decided to keep him involved.
Oh my gosh, it was destiny! Simon and Nicole – Nicole was filling in for Cheryl at the time, can you believe it? – they saw something special in Harry and decided to put him with Liam, Niall, Zayn, and Louis. It was the best decision ever. I knew from that moment they were going to be huge, a group! It just felt right, you know? Like they were always meant to be together.
In the 2013 documentary One Direction: Going Our Way, Scherzinger playfully admits to being instrumental in the band’s success, even though she rarely gets the credit. Meanwhile, judge Louis Walsh famously failed to recognize Harry Styles’ potential.
It was Harry, however, who came up with the group’s name.
He remembered thinking the name sounded good when they were brainstorming. They tossed around a few ideas, and he honestly wasn’t sure where it came from. He suggested it, everyone agreed, and it just ended up sticking.
Zayn explained on Phoenix’s Hot 97.5 FM in 2012 that the band initially brainstormed a ton of potential names. Harry suggested the name they ultimately chose – he simply texted it to the group, and they all agreed it worked. Apparently, Liam came up with some pretty terrible suggestions too. Zayn also remembered another idea someone had floated: USP, which stands for Unique Selling Point.

In October 2010, One Direction hit the X Factor stage live for the first time.
Even though I’m his mother, Harry is a genuinely kind person, and he’s presenting himself on the show just as he is at home,” Anne told Now magazine during his time on the program.
When Harry went to the X Factor house, I told him, ‘Stay yourself, Harry, and don’t become someone unpleasant. Remember, you’ll still have chores to do when you get back home, like unloading the dishwasher.’
You know, it’s fascinating how even people seemingly born for the spotlight can struggle. I learned from Alice Montgomery’s biography, Harry, that he actually battled serious panic attacks right before going on stage. Can you believe it? At first, it was so bad he even got sick before a show! Eventually, he found a routine that helped – things like sipping sparkling water and practicing deep breathing exercises to calm his nerves. It just goes to show, everyone needs coping mechanisms, even performers who appear completely confident.

Despite their later success, One Direction didn’t win The X Factor in 2010. They finished in third place, after Matt Cardle won and Rebecca Ferguson came in second.

You know, when I think back to my school days, I was always a pretty inclusive kid. As I recall, I genuinely enjoyed the company of both girls and boys. It wasn’t like some of my classmates who couldn’t stand girls – I never thought that way! I really just tried to be friends with everyone, and I think that’s a great way to grow up. That’s something biographer Louisa Jepson has highlighted when we spoke about my early years.
Harry, of the band White Eskimo, always had a way with girls, according to his bandmate Will Sweeny. Sweeny told the Daily Star that Harry had girlfriends as early as Year Four, when he was around ten years old, and it was something people noticed even in primary school. He apparently had a natural charm that attracted them throughout his life.
Louis Tomlinson jokingly complained to The Sun that the biggest issue with living with Harry was the endless parade of women coming and going. He said it was “relentless.” Of course, Louis was dating Eleanor Calder at the time, so he was likely teasing Harry a little.
However, Jepson’s dad, Desmond, reassured him that when his son truly cared for someone, he was completely devoted to that one woman.
Harry has always prioritized safety. He shared with OK! magazine in 2012 that he was worried about getting his partner pregnant the first time they had sex, even though they had used protection. Thankfully, everything was okay, and he believes it’s irresponsible to take chances with safe sex.

Following One Direction’s win on The X Factor in 2011, Harry Styles openly expressed interest in both 22-year-old Frankie Bridge from the group The Saturdays and 31-year-old Caroline Flack, who hosted The Xtra Factor, the companion show to The X Factor.
He confessed to having a childhood crush on Frankie Bridge, saying he’s loved her since she was in S Club Juniors and he even had posters of her. He admitted he’d love to kiss her, naming both Frankie and Caroline Flack as his favorites. Later, on The X Factor website, he sent a message hoping Caroline Flack would see it, calling her gorgeous and saying ‘hi’.
Harry and Caroline first met in October 2011 at an after-party for a show at London’s W Hotel, and they left together. However, according to Alice Montgomery, nothing significant happened between them that evening.
In her 2015 memoir, Storm in a C Cup, Caroline Flack described how she and the other person connected easily because they were both single and enjoyed each other’s company. She explained that things only became difficult once their relationship became public. Initially, it was lighthearted, and he had even playfully mentioned being attracted to older women.
Despite claims that she and Harry Styles were just friends, fans of the band One Direction strongly expressed their possessiveness over him. This led Caroline Flack to tweet that she and Harry were close friends and that he was a kind person, but she didn’t deserve the death threats she was receiving.
“Flack off, Caroline,” read a banner on display at a 1D concert.
The fourteen-year age difference between them didn’t escape notice, and both fans and critics continued to comment on it. In an interview with Now magazine, Flack expressed her confusion over the criticism, saying, “I don’t understand why people find it so upsetting. If two people connect and are happy, why does it bother anyone else? It seems strange that some people immediately focus on the negative.”
As One Direction began to achieve massive international success, Harry and Taylor secretly stopped dating around early 2012.

In 2012, Harry Styles and the rest of One Direction appeared on an episode of iCarly. The band was scheduled to perform as themselves, but Harry jokingly pretends to catch “jungle worms” after drinking from Carly’s water bottle—this happens right after a doctor warns Carly she might still be contagious and shouldn’t kiss anyone. Even after he’s supposedly recovered, Harry pretends to still be sick to get Carly to keep caring for him.
After recovering, Harry was well enough for One Direction to perform their hit song, “That’s What Makes You Beautiful.”
This funny moment from pop culture history is still shared online today, including a popular 2013 tweet. It revealed that Harry Styles didn’t want to kiss Miranda Cosgrove in the original script for the One Direction episode of the show iCarly.

I remember back in 2012, right after Taylor and Harry met at the Kids’ Choice Awards, Justin Bieber let slip something amazing! He told the Daily Mirror that a major artist had already told him how good-looking Harry was, but he wasn’t allowed to say who! It was so exciting to hear even then that Harry was turning heads.
Harry told Seventeen magazine that summer that Taylor Swift was both incredibly talented and genuinely kind. He said she was “honestly, a sweeter person you couldn’t meet.”
Their romance wasn’t expected to last, but Taylor was at One Direction’s first concert at Madison Square Garden that December – a show where Harry was playfully showered with bras, underwear, and even an iPhone. For a brief, exciting time, they were the biggest pop couple around, from their public date in Central Park and quick trip to Harry’s hometown, to a disappointing Caribbean vacation that ended with Taylor left on a boat by herself.
In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Styles reflected on their date in New York City, saying, “Looking back at photos, I realize relationships are challenging no matter how old you are. When you’re 18 and figuring things out, it’s even harder. It should have been simple—just a date with someone I liked—but we were both a little awkward. It was definitely a learning experience, and really, I just wanted it to feel like a normal date.”
Speaking about Taylor Swift’s songs “Out of the Woods” and “Style,” which are widely believed to be inspired by their relationship, Harry Styles shared that he feels fortunate to have contributed to their creation. He explained that the most meaningful songs come from deeply personal experiences – the things that are hardest to express and that he generally keeps private. He emphasized that these songs are about the connection between two people, and he doesn’t plan on ever revealing the full story behind them.
Asked if he had anything to tell Swift, he mused, “Certain things don’t work out. There’s a lot of things that can be right, and it’s still wrong. In writing songs about stuff like that, I like tipping a hat to the
time together.

Harry likes snowboarding.
In January 2014, a source told TopMob News that Harry and Kendall Jenner were enjoying each other’s company after they were seen together in Mammoth Lakes. Kendall confirmed they were friendly, telling reporters at the 2013 American Music Awards that Harry was “cool.”

Harry also likes swimming.
This marked the beginning of a years-long, on-again, off-again friendship, with Styles and Jenner traveling together from Southern California to islands like Anguilla and St. Barts.
Harry Styles hinted in a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone that a more recent ex-girlfriend than Taylor Swift – possibly Kendall Jenner – heavily influenced his album. He explained that sometimes he prefers to subtly acknowledge an ex in his work, while other times he dedicates it entirely to them, hoping they understand it’s a personal tribute.

Any photos circulating over the years that seemed to show Harry and Louis—or the pairing fans nicknamed “Larry”—kissing were not real.
Harry Styles pointed out that a photo of him and Louis Tomlinson appearing in a magazine was altered. He explained on the Australian show Sunrise that the picture was Photoshopped because there was a woman visible in the original shot.
Louis explained that this had happened to him and Niall too. He described how, when someone is being targeted, others will often isolate them. He thought it was a surprisingly effective tactic.

You know, it was back in 2014, while we were all hanging out in the studio in London – it seriously had that classic Beatles vibe – that Harry first floated the idea of One Direction taking a bit of time off. He really felt it was something we should consider, and looking back, he was absolutely right.
He explained to Rolling Stone that they didn’t want to overwork their fans. While it would have been easy to just keep touring, they all felt the band deserved better. They knew constant touring would lead to burnout, both for themselves and for their audience, and they didn’t want to lose the support of their fans.

Zayn’s friends supported his decision. He was dealing with anxiety and problems in his relationship with Perrie Edwards – rumors of infidelity were circulating in the tabloids – and decided to leave One Direction in March 2015, initiating the group’s temporary hiatus.
It was heartbreaking when Zayn left One Direction, but the remaining members were so strong, trying to prepare us, their fans, for what was coming. They announced a break in August, and then… their final concert. October 31st, 2015. It was at Sheffield Arena, and honestly, it felt like the scariest night ever for Directioners like me. It was the end of an era, and we all felt it.

After Zayn Malik said One Direction’s songs weren’t very cool—specifically, that he wouldn’t put them on while having a romantic dinner—Harry responded by remaining polite and avoiding any conflict.
Styles told Rolling Stone that while he was sad to hear how the person felt, he always wants the best for anyone pursuing their passion.
If you’re unhappy with something, it’s perfectly okay to switch gears and do something you enjoy. I’m happy for him that he’s pursuing his passions and wish him all the best.

He explained to Rolling Stone that he didn’t want to just write fictional stories for his first solo album, appropriately named Harry Styles. He wanted to share his personal experiences and be truly honest – something he hadn’t done in his music before.
That being said, the game was on when it came to figuring out what, or who, he was singing about.
Harry explained that he deliberately keeps his personal and professional lives separate. He believes this helps him maintain a sense of balance and stay grounded. He doesn’t want to create a public persona or prolong his career; he simply wants to feel like himself, whether he’s at work or at home. He values the contrast between these two parts of his life and enjoys switching between them; it’s something he finds incredibly fulfilling.

The song imagines a mother experiencing a difficult childbirth. She’s told her baby will be okay, but she doesn’t have much time left to live. She has just five minutes to say goodbye and encourage her child to live a full life, essentially telling them to ‘go out and succeed.’

Harry Styles is known for his great hair, no matter how he styles it. Back in 2017, British Vogue took a look at the products on his dressing table before a Paris concert and found seven different hair products, along with a Tom Ford fragrance, a Diptyque candle, and Sunday Riley face oil.
Vogue beauty editor Lisa Niven playfully pointed out that Harry seems to have the self-care routine of a professional beauty editor, giving him credit for using Ouai hair products and especially the Sunday Riley oil. She added with a smile that who wouldn’t request a Diptyque candle when making requests for a performance or appearance?
Only a few million people noticed he’d gotten a haircut before he started actively promoting his music again.
He told Vogue he initially felt vulnerable after deciding to shave his head. He explained it wasn’t a difficult choice, and the hair was later used to create a wig.

I’ve been a fan of Harry for ages, and it’s something a lot of people don’t know: he actually has four nipples! He’s got the usual two, but then there are two extra ones right underneath them. It’s a unique feature, and honestly, just adds to his charm!

When Harry was in One Direction, he was known for his casual style of tight pants and wrinkled t-shirts. Since then, he’s completely changed his look, now favoring sharply tailored suits, or at least stylish jackets and slacks, and has even modeled in two advertising campaigns for Gucci.
Okay, seriously, I nearly lost it when Harry Styles said this! He told Entertainment Tonight that Shania Twain was a HUGE influence on him – both his music and his style! He just said, ‘Yeah, I think she’s amazing,’ but honestly, that’s all I needed to hear. Shania is a queen, and Harry gets it! I knew he had good taste, but this just confirms everything. I’m obsessed with both of them now, if that’s even possible!
Wait, what?
Growing up, my mom, Anne, loved listening to Shania Twain, Norah Jones, and Savage Garden, especially during the 1990s. Meanwhile, my dad, Des, was teaching me all about rock and roll at home.

While pursuing his music career, Harry also began acting, appearing in Christopher Nolan’s epic World War II film, Dunkirk, released in July 2017. The film was a critical success, receiving eight Academy Award nominations and winning three.
When asked if it was more intimidating to audition for Christopher Nolan or Simon Cowell, Harry Styles told ITV’s This Morning that it was likely Nolan. He explained that Nolan is very quiet – he doesn’t say anything at all during auditions, just sits in the back of the room. Styles described it as incredibly intense, saying you leave and spend ages worrying about whether or not he approved.
At least he could rest assured that Nolan wasn’t giving him special treatment.
The director admitted they didn’t fully realize how well-known Harry was at the time of casting. While their children had mentioned him, they weren’t truly aware of his fame. Ultimately, they chose Harry because he was a perfect fit for the role and demonstrated his talent during the audition process, earning the part on merit.
Styles admitted that walking onto the set of a big-budget war epic was a bit intimidating at first.
He was immediately struck by how large the production was, telling The Big Issue that ‘you walk onto set the first day and are just taken aback by everything.’ It was his first film, and he quickly realized he needed to learn to manage a challenging situation—and even stay afloat, quite literally.
One particularly intense scene involved Harry Styles’ character, Alex, nearly drowning. Styles told USA Today that filming the scene was genuinely stressful, as he was acutely aware of his limited breath-hold. He remembered being asked about his swimming ability the day before filming began in France, and realizing the role would require a lot of time in the water – so much so that he joked they seemed to be testing how long it would take for him to actually drown.

And…he’s funny, too.
In 2017, Harry Styles was everywhere promoting his music, but he also surprisingly stepped in to host The Late Late Show twice – once in 2017 and again in 2019 – and did a great job, even with the American-style political jokes! Interestingly, years earlier while looking for a house in Hampstead Heath, he lived with Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston and his wife, Meredith, for almost two years, sleeping on a mattress in their attic.
He was away a lot, being a major pop star, but still.
Styles admitted to being intimidated by Meredith and avoiding bringing dates home. However, Winston recalled that Styles wasn’t always alone, and it was fun to see the famous people who would stay in the attic or hang out with them. They never talked shop, and Styles would act like his recent performances for crowds of 80,000 in Rio de Janeiro hadn’t even happened.
In 2017, while performing as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live with host Jimmy Fallon, Harry Styles playfully impersonated Mick Jagger. Later, in July 2018, he appeared on The Tonight Show and jokingly told Jimmy Fallon he’d like to host the show someday. Fallon then pretended to faint, and Harry playfully took over as host, sitting behind the desk.
Styles returned to SNL as host and musical guest in 2019 and crushed it.

CBS’s show Happy Together, which marked Harry Styles’ debut as an executive producer on American network television, wasn’t renewed after its first season of 13 episodes.

After his first solo tour wrapped up in July 2018—having sold nearly 1 million tickets across 89 shows—a total of $1.2 million was donated to charity. This amount came from a portion of the tour’s profits, as well as contributions from Live Nation and the GLSEN PRIDE campaign.

Harry Styles’ career soared after he won his first Grammy in 2021 for his song “Watermelon Sugar,” and nothing seemed able to slow him down. In 2023, he continued his success, winning two Grammys for his album Harry’s House, including the prestigious Album of the Year award. When accepting the Album of the Year trophy, he humbly shared, “This is so nice, and this doesn’t often happen to people like me.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Harry’s incredible journey, and it’s more than just his Grammy win! He really broke boundaries in 2020 by becoming the first solo male to appear on the cover of Vogue – a truly iconic moment.

Beyond his own songs, Harry also co-wrote hits for other artists. He’s credited with writing Ariana Grande’s popular song “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart,” and the track “Someday” performed by Meghan Trainor and Michael Bublé.

Harry Styles is known for his music and acting, including his role in Don’t Worry Darling directed by his then-girlfriend, Olivia Wilde. But he considered other career paths too. In 2020, he told Ellen DeGeneres that if he wasn’t a singer, he’d love to be a florist.
He also thought about becoming a physiotherapist. He explained on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show that he originally wanted to be a footballer, but wasn’t skilled enough. He then considered physiotherapy, but learned during a school career day that there weren’t many job opportunities in that field, so he pursued music instead.
