Harry Styles was born on February 1st, 1994, in Evesham, Worcestershire, to parents Anne Cox and Desmond Styles. He grew up with an older sister, Gemma, who was born in 1990.

Oh my gosh, I read this interview with his old boss, Simon Wakefield, back in 2013 when they were filming One Direction: This Is Us at the shop where Harry used to work! Simon said Harry was the nicest employee they ever had, seriously! He said customers absolutely loved him – everyone just instantly connected with him, you know? It just proves what I’ve always known – he’s just naturally charming and kind!
Wakefield explained that the shop became popular with girls when Harry worked there – they’d often come in groups, sometimes as many as twelve at a time. Even today, groups of around twenty girls visit and take pictures of the shop. Harry was a dedicated employee, responsible for everything from serving customers and cleaning the back room to scrubbing floors, washing trays, and keeping the counter tidy.
Anne was the one who ended up sending Harry’s X Factor application in when he got cold feet.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always said it’s important to follow your passion, and that’s exactly what this young 16-year-old showed when he auditioned for The X Factor back in 2010. He told the judges – and, let’s be honest, his mum was his first fan! – that singing was his dream. He even performed an a cappella version of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” to prove it. Growing up in the ’90s, I heard a lot of Shania Twain, Norah Jones, and Savage Garden thanks to my mom, Anne. Meanwhile, my dad, Des, was teaching me everything about rock and roll.
Harry began pursuing his music while also starting his acting career with a role in Christopher Nolan’s epic war film, Dunkirk, released in July 2017. The movie was a critical success, receiving eight Academy Award nominations and winning three.
Harry Styles said that auditioning for Christopher Nolan was more challenging than auditioning for Simon Cowell. Interestingly, years earlier while looking for a house in Hampstead Heath, he lived with Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston and his wife, Meredith, for nearly two years, sleeping on a mattress in their attic.

CBS’s show Happy Together, which marked Harry Styles’ debut as an executive producer on American network television, wasn’t renewed after airing its first 13 episodes.
After his first solo tour ended in July 2018, nearly 1 million tickets had been sold across 89 shows. The tour raised $1.2 million for various charities, thanks to donations from ticket sales, Live Nation, and the GLSEN PRIDE campaign.
