As a follower who has followed Ella Forster‘s journey from the very beginning, tonight’s episode of Emmerdale was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The guilt she carries from her past actions weighs heavily on her shoulders, and her 30th birthday was just another reminder of that fateful day when she lost not only her innocence but also her best friend.
Tonight’s (August 22nd) episode of Emmerdale brought a rollercoaster of ups and downs for Ella Forster, portrayed by Paula Lane.
In the small town, the recent arrival reached the age of thirty, yet it seemed she had no intention of marking the occasion, for it was on this same date, 19 years prior, that a tragic event occurred – she took the life of her dearest friend at the tender age of eleven.
Despite serving time in prison, Ella’s guilt has always lingered, making each birthday an extra burden for her.
On Ella’s special day, Mandy (Lisa Riley), Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), and Rhona (Zoe Henry) were determined to go the extra mile in making her feel extraordinary.
Initially hesitant, Ella agreed to participate in certain plans and underwent a makeover at Mandy’s salon. However, things took an unpleasant turn when she discovered that photos of her before and after look had been shared on social media without her consent.
Ella became quite anxious, adamantly expressing her unwillingness to attend a party following the shocking event that had occurred earlier in the day.
In an unexpected twist, I found myself swaying to the rhythm of a microphone, thanks to none other than Liam (Johnny McPherson). And let me tell you, it was Ella who joined us for a heartwarming round of karaoke with the girls.
However, Gary interrupted her, wishing to recall an action from long ago that she had taken, which proved overwhelming for Ella, causing her to leave the pub.
In a surprising turn of events, Wendy found Ella agitated and led her into the surgery room for tranquility. However, something within Ella suddenly snapped, causing her to aggressively strike Wendy – punching her in the face and hurling pots at her!
Ella convinced Wendy to talk to the police, and during their journey, Manpreet showed up and had a deep conversation with Ella. The once deadly woman confessed that she could only find peace in prison, for whenever she attempts to move on, her past keeps returning to torment her.
When the police arrived, Ella, with emotion-filled eyes, bid a heartfelt farewell to Liam, handing back the necklace he had given her as a birthday present.
