In an unexpected turn of events, he becomes entangled in a murder mystery, resulting in intriguing plot twists and turns. As we reach the end of Season 4, viewers are eagerly waiting to learn more about future installments. The question on everyone’s mind is: Will Resident Alien be revived for Season 5? Or has it been terminated?
Here is everything you need to know about the future of the science fiction comedy-drama.
Is Resident Alien Season 5 canceled?
Unfortunately, Resident Alien Season 5 has been canceled.
The fourth season, consisting of ten episodes, debuted on June 6, 2025, and wrapped up on August 8, 2025. Before the final episode aired, it was revealed that the series would be concluding with no additional installments. This news left fans stunned as the show had received widespread praise, boasting an impressive 8/10 rating on IMDb and a remarkable 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, creator Chris Sheridan shared that he had a feeling during the production of Season 4 that it might be the last. He expressed, “I went into it knowing that this could very well be our final season.” Sheridan continued by saying, “This creative freedom allowed us to tie up loose ends and work towards a conclusion. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in Season 4, particularly with the finale – a standout episode that I believe is among the best of the series.
In contrast, during SDCC, lead actor Alan Tudyk explained, “Nobody is to blame… our ratings have never been higher. It’s simply a matter of how the business is evolving, and there’s just not enough funding.” Additionally, Alice Wetterlund, who portrays D’arcy Bloom on the show, mentioned, “We aren’t being cancelled for typical reasons… people are still finding the show, even today.
Could Resident Alien still return somehow?
While Resident Alien won’t return with new seasons, there are chances of a movie happening.
According to actress Sara Tomko, who spoke at Comic-Con International, there could potentially be a Resident Alien movie coming up. She hinted, “Perhaps we’ll produce a movie in the future.” Fans should keep an eye out for further news about the film in the time ahead. (Source: CBR)
