Okay, so as a big MCU fan, I’m super excited! It sounds like we’re finally getting Season 2 of Hawkeye in early 2026, and even better, Tony Dalton said he’s coming back as Swordsman! That’s awesome news – I really liked his character and can’t wait to see what happens next.
In an interview with ComicBookMovie.com, actor Jayden Dalton confirmed he’ll reprise his role in the upcoming Daredevil project. He shared that the action sequences were so physically demanding, he suffered some serious injuries while filming. Dalton recalled being asked about the action in his recent film, Trap House, and explained he was already thinking about the even more intense stunts he’d be performing for Daredevil. He revealed he was bedridden for two to three weeks with bruises and potentially a chipped rib due to the demanding physical work.
Alaqua Cox previously played Jack Duquesne / Swordsman in the first season of Hawkeye, and recently returned to the role in three episodes of Echo. Because of this, viewers likely won’t have to wait long to see him again when Season 2 of Echo premieres on March 4, 2026.
Dalton is a rich and talented swordsman who was once engaged to Eleanor Bishop, Kate Bishop’s mother. Recently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s gotten into trouble with a government task force created to stop people from taking the law into their own hands in New York City. After being arrested, it’s unclear what will happen to his character in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, but he could play a significant role in future episodes.
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again launched on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, as part of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a continuation of the popular Daredevil series that originally aired on Netflix from 2015 to 2018, and stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as the villain Kingpin. The first season received mostly positive feedback, and a third season is planned for release in 2027.
Jeremy Renner’s Recent Comments Make a Second Season of Hawkeye Seem Unlikely
Although characters introduced in the Hawkeye Disney+ series are appearing in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, a second season of the 2021 show starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld is unlikely.
Although people enjoyed the show and wanted more, Jeremy Renner recently shared that he initially declined a return. He explained that the offer for the second season was only half of what he earned for the first. However, he’s still open to the possibility, saying he loves playing Hawkeye and would be happy to do another season if the timing is right and there’s enough interest.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 arrives on Disney+ on March 4, 2026.
