The second season of Hazbin Hotel just wrapped up with its final episode, and there’s a lot to discuss! The villain, Vox, put his plan into action to take over Heaven and control Alastor, which put Charlie Morningstar and everyone in Hell in danger. Good news for fans: Amazon Prime Video has renewed the show for seasons three and four! Let’s recap the finale and see how it sets the stage for what’s coming next.
Please be warned: this discussion contains major spoilers for the latest Hazbin Hotel season finale. As we’ve seen, Vox has been trying to control the demons of Hell and extend his power into Heaven after the battle at the Pearly Gates. He created a powerful weapon using Lucifer’s own energy, seemingly putting him in a dominant position. However, his overconfidence ultimately leads to his downfall.
Early in the second season, Alastor and Vox make an agreement: Alastor will become Vox’s prisoner as long as Vox leaves Charlie unharmed. However, Vox breaks his promise by touching Charlie, which allows Alastor to free himself and retaliate. Vox then tries to destroy both Heaven and Hell using a device powered by Lucifer, but his own subordinates behead him, seemingly setting up a future return. While Heaven and Hell work together to prevent the device from exploding and save the day, things remain tense for the characters at the hotel.
Goodbye Angel Dust
A major reveal in season two centered around Angel Dust, a popular character, and his secret manipulation by Vox. It turned out that Vox, the season’s main villain, had been controlling Angel, who unknowingly shared information about Charlie and her friends with him. Angel wasn’t intentionally a traitor; Vox used his hypnotic powers to make the vulnerable character an ideal spy. Understanding this, Angel Dust ultimately chose to help his friends despite the circumstances.
The second season of Hazbin Hotel ends with Angel Dust leaving the hotel. He feels he’s betrayed his friends enough and doesn’t think he can ever truly be redeemed. Over the course of the season, Angel and Husk developed real feelings for each other, making Angel’s departure particularly painful for Husk. When season three eventually arrives, fans will be watching to see if Angel returns, as he’s going back to the Vees with the intention of protecting his friends.
Charlie’s Big Final Moment

The first season of Hazbin Hotel built up anticipation for the appearance of Charlie Morningstar’s mother, Lilith. However, in season two, Lilith remained largely absent, staying out of sight as Charlie struggled to connect with her. Despite Charlie’s repeated attempts to reach her while managing the hotel and battling against Vox, she was left unanswered. Once the conflict concluded, Charlie received an unexpected surprise.
Charlie had accepted she’d never hear from her mother, Lilith, when suddenly Lilith called. The season ended right as Charlie answered the phone, leaving viewers hanging. While Lucifer, Charlie’s father, was a significant presence in the first two seasons, Lilith hadn’t been. Now that mother and daughter are finally connecting, it seems likely season three will reveal more about Lilith and her relationship with Lucifer.
Currently, there’s no official release date for Hazbin Hotel season three. But if the pattern from previous seasons continues, we can likely expect it around 2026. Seasons one and two premiered in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Whenever it arrives, fans of the Hellaverse can look forward to more music and exciting events.
