Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart are a guaranteed hit when they team up. Their different personalities and natural chemistry make them one of the funniest and most successful duos in recent Hollywood history. Over the past ten years, they’ve starred together in popular movies like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and DC League of Super-Pets. However, there’s limited time left to see the film that launched their on-screen partnership.
The action comedy Central Intelligence is leaving HBO Max soon. Released in 2016, the film paired Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart for the first time. Johnson plays Bob Stone, a former outcast who becomes a CIA agent, and Hart plays Calvin Joyner, his high school classmate turned accountant. The unlikely duo must work together to protect a vital U.S. satellite system. If you’re an HBO Max subscriber, you only have a few hours left to watch it before it’s removed on February 10th.
Central Intelligence Successfully Launched the Blockbuster Comedy Partnership of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart
While Central Intelligence received a 71% score from critics and a 62% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes – placing it just outside the top 10 for both Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart’s films – it was incredibly important for launching their incredibly successful on-screen partnership. Johnson and Hart immediately clicked, and their contrasting styles – Hart’s energetic humor and Johnson’s charismatic presence – created a winning combination. This chemistry led to instant success and has been repeated in five films since.
Okay, so even if you’re already a fan of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart together – and honestly, who isn’t? – Central Intelligence really delivers. It’s a genuinely funny movie, blending their fantastic comedic timing and physical humor with some surprisingly well-done action sequences. But what surprised me most was the heart of it all – the film builds a really sweet friendship between their characters, Bob and Calvin, which grounds everything. And the cameos! Seriously, the high school reunion scenes are packed with unexpected faces that just add another layer of fun. You’re constantly wondering who’s going to pop up next, and it keeps the energy really high. It’s just a blast from start to finish.
Where to Stream Central Intelligence After It Leaves HBO Max?
If you enjoy Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart together, don’t miss watching Central Intelligence on HBO Max while it’s still available. It’s leaving the platform on February 10th, and it’s currently the only place to stream the movie. While it might appear on another streaming service in March, that hasn’t been announced yet. If you want to be sure you can watch it, your best bet is to buy or rent it online.
