HBO Max is continuing to expand its animated content, even though it’s faced some challenges recently. Although popular classic Cartoon Network shows like Courage The Cowardly Dog, Powerpuff Girls, and Scooby-Doo are no longer available on the streaming service, new original animated series are on the way. A major animated world from Warner Bros. is the one centered around the Land of Oooo and the journeys of Jake the Dog and Finn The Human. The platform quietly revealed when we can anticipate the return of this much-loved animated setting.
Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake is coming back on October 23rd, as announced by HBO Max. This news arrives just before the show’s panel at New York Comic-Con, where the creator and cast members will share more details. The preview event is scheduled for Sunday, October 12th, and here’s how the convention describes it:
Head to the Javits Center via subway, taxi, or even a multiversal portal – Adventure Time is coming back to New York Comic Con! Don’t miss the chance to see what’s next in season 2 of the HBO Max Original series, “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake,” with an exclusive preview. Join executive producer and showrunner Adam Muto, and voice actors Madeleine Martin, Roz Ryan, and Ashly Burch, as they share a glimpse into the multiversal adventures from Cartoon Network Studios.
Fionna And Cake’s Second Season Adventure
After the exciting, multi-dimensional journeys of Adventure Time: Fionna And Cake’s first season, the next season will take a more “realistic” direction by delving deeper into Fionna’s original world. The second season will also feature the return of Simon Petrikov, formerly the Ice King, who will continue to be important in the lives of the main characters. This time, he’s joined by the Huntress Wizard. Here’s how HBO Max describes the spin-off’s comeback: “Fionna and Cake staying in contact with Simon Petrikov must join forces with Huntress Wizard on a mission to rescue Ooo’s most beloved hero.” This description leaves many questions unanswered about the spin-off’s return.
Fortunately, Fionna and Cake’s adventure isn’t the only story Adventure Time is developing. Last year, a first movie for the series was announced, and several spin-offs are also planned to expand the world of Oooo. These spin-off stories will explore new and exciting areas, starting with Heyo BMO, which is geared towards younger viewers and centers on Jake and Finn’s robotic companion. Another spin-off, Adventure Time: Side Quests, will follow Finn and Jake in their early adventures. While none of these projects have confirmed release dates yet, it demonstrates that Warner Bros Discovery has significant plans for the Cartoon Network series.
