As a total TV fanatic, I’ve always known HBO as one of the biggest players in quality television. Seriously, shows like Game of Thrones, The Wire, and The Sopranos weren’t just hits, they completely changed the game. But it’s not just those few big ones – HBO has consistently delivered amazing series over the years that both viewers and critics have loved. A lot of their shows are honestly some of the most iconic TV ever made, and they’re still killing it with all the great stuff they’re releasing now.
HBO’s hit show Euphoria has become one of television’s biggest successes. With the upcoming release of season 3, many people wondered what the future held for the series. However, Sam Levinson, the creator, writer, and director of Euphoria, has now confirmed that the show is over. According to Variety, the season 3 finale will also be the series finale, marking the end of Euphoria.
Euphoria Ends At The Perfect Moment

When its first season debuted in 2019, Euphoria quickly became a worldwide success. The show’s talented cast, including Zendaya, also launched the careers of Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, making them major stars. The second season, which premiered in 2022, continued to receive high praise, solidifying Euphoria’s place as one of the most captivating dramas currently on television.
Though the HBO show Euphoria was initially a hit, its third season didn’t quite live up to expectations. The story jumped five years into the future, which many viewers felt took away from what made the show so appealing in the first place. By shifting away from the high school environment, season 3 hinted that the show might be coming to an end.
Season 3 of the HBO Max show departed significantly from the themes of its first two seasons and didn’t resonate with viewers as strongly. Despite negative reviews, the final season still attracted a large audience, and ultimately, ending the show now feels like the right decision. Given the show’s focus on high school and its consistently bleak portrayal of its characters’ lives, a decline in quality was expected, making the news of its cancellation unsurprising, even if disappointing for dedicated fans.
