The TV series adaptation of HBO’s “Harry Potter” is now officially underway, and fans are thrilled as they get sneak peeks into the cast in their costumes. We previously saw Dominic McLaughlin as young Harry Potter in his Hogwarts uniform, and now we’ve been given a first glimpse at one of Harry’s earliest friends in the magical world. HBO has revealed an image of Nick Frost portraying Hogwarts groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid. The actor seems ideal for the part as he dons the character’s signature beard and long hair, which bear a striking resemblance to Robbie Coltrane’s appearance from the “Harry Potter” films.
In the early stages of the Harry Potter television series, Frost was among the initial actors signed on for the project. The news about his role initially surfaced in March, yet it wasn’t until April that his participation was officially confirmed. He is part of an impressive ensemble of performers who will bring the Hogwarts staff and faculty to life, with John Lithgow playing Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu taking on Severus Snape. Take a look at the image below showing Frost portraying Hagrid:
