The Princess Diaries is a classic from the early 2000s that many millennials grew up with. The movie helped launch Anne Hathaway’s career, following both the original 2001 film and its 2004 sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. While many already knew Julie Andrews from The Sound of Music, she became instantly recognizable as the queen of Genovia. And for many, a childhood was slightly broken when they discovered Genovia wasn’t actually a real country – how could it not be, with Clarisse Renaldi as its queen?
With a third Princess Diaries movie potentially in the works, Funko is celebrating the original Disney film with three new collectible Pop! figures. You can pre-order figures of Queen Clarisse and Mia Thermopolis, both dressed in their royal best, for $14.99 each. But the standout is a special Premium Pop! that recreates Mia’s iconic makeover scene. This figure shows a newly transformed Mia sitting in her chair, with “before” and “after” photos displayed on either side. It’s a fun tribute to one of the movie’s most memorable moments! As a Premium Pop!, it costs a bit more at $19.99.

Back in 2024, The Hollywood Reporter announced that The Princess Diaries 3 was in development, but we haven’t heard any updates since. Anne Hathaway, who launched her acting career with the original films, is reportedly producing the sequel and shared the news on her Instagram. Fans were thrilled with the announcement, so hopefully the studio is prioritizing the film and avoiding endless revisions. Let’s be real – millennials are growing up, and we need this movie before it’s too late!
