Heidi Klum Reveals How Long It Took to Turn Into Medusa for Halloween

Heidi Klum is taking the crown for Queen of Halloween once again.

Heidi Klum stunned everyone at her 2025 Halloween party in New York City on October 31st with an elaborate Medusa costume. Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, accompanied her as a warrior she’d seemingly turned to stone. While posing on the red carpet at the Hard Rock Hotel, the couple revealed they’d been planning this creative couples costume for quite some time.

Just five months, no big deal.

Heidi shared with TopMob News just before entering the party that everything was painted by hand. She said a team of around 15 people worked on it, and she was very pleased with the results.

They transformed into their characters in just 10 hours, paying close attention to every detail. From the mechanical snakes moving on her head to the scales on her tail and his entirely gray skin, nothing was overlooked.

Heidi explained that she’d been considering creating her own version of Medusa for a while. Having seen many interpretations over the years, she wanted to make something truly frightening – with snakes that seemed to move, a horribly ugly face, and especially terrifying teeth. Her goal was to capture the essence of a long, venomous rattlesnake.

Mission accomplished.

As for Tom, his main challenge every year is making sure he complements his Halloween-mad wife.

He explained to TopMob that while this year hasn’t been too challenging, some years definitely are. He used last year’s project, E.T., as an example, saying it presented difficulties – specifically, deciding whether to portray both male characters or a single female version. He added that he consistently needs to find creative solutions to fit the project’s requirements.

He explained that this year, he felt his main role was simply to be present and supportive, stating, “That’s all I could do, and I think everyone involved did a fantastic job.”

But, Heidi noted, somewhat mournfully, “You still look like you.”

Heidi wasn’t the only celebrity who impressed with their Halloween costume! Charli D’Amelio, Coco Jones, Julia Fox, James Charles, and Jonathan Van Ness also dressed up and turned heads at the party.

Everyone knows Heidi Klum loves to plan big Halloween parties! As a mom to Leni (21), Henry (20), Johan (18), and Lou (16) – her children with ex-husband Seal – she was already working on her incredible costume back in October, promising a spectacular celebration in 2025.

On October 1st, the 52-year-old shared a photo on Instagram of a 3D mold made of her face, hinting at future projects with the caption, “This is just the beginning.”

Heidi explained to TopMob on the red carpet in 2024 that they had begun getting ready at 10 a.m. and came straight to the event afterward.

To think, they didn’t have to start until noon this year.
