Heidi Klum Teases Most Elaborate Halloween Costume in First Look

Calling all the monsters: Heidi Klum is coming for your brand.

Heidi Klum is getting ready for her annual Halloween party on October 31st, and she’s already hinting at her costume. Fans predict it will be even more impressive than last year’s elaborate robotic E.T. outfits she and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, wore together.

Heidi shared a video on Instagram on October 31st showing her transforming into a character. The video starts with a close-up of her face, which was already lightly covered in green makeup. She also dyed her eyebrows green and wore a bald cap to complete the look.

The 52-year-old offered another clue about her costume with spooky background music featuring chimes. This led fans to guess she might be dressed as anything from The Grinch to Beetlejuice.

Heidi Klum has been subtly revealing clues about her Halloween costume for a while now. Earlier this month, the America’s Got Talent judge – who has four children, Leni (21), Henry (20), Johan (18), and Lou (16), with her ex-husband Seal – shared a preview of her look. She posted a remarkably lifelike clay sculpture of her face on Instagram on October 1st, with a caption hinting that it was just the first step in revealing the full costume.

Heidi made it clear in August that she would absolutely not miss her favorite holiday, particularly her yearly party. That’s great news, because the New York party is famous for attracting celebrities who put a lot of effort into their costumes – couples like Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin have always impressed, and stars like Frankie Grande often outdo even Heidi herself!

Heidi jokingly said she was already busy planning her party while on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She promised it would be delightfully spooky and asked everyone to keep the details a surprise, playfully noting they had 86 days to prepare and weren’t keeping track anyway.

Heidi has become famous for her incredible costumes, but she says it took years of practice to create the detailed and impressive prosthetics she’s known for now. She first started showcasing her work at the annual event back in 2000.

Heidi remembered having to handle her own hair and makeup. Back then, she didn’t know anyone who specialized in effects makeup. Thankfully, she’s since met incredibly talented people who now assist her with it.

For the past few years, Heidi Klum has worked with prosthetic makeup artist Mike Marino. He’s created looks for films like The Penguin and A Different Man, and he’s said the stress of creating Heidi’s yearly costume is comparable to being in a “war.”

Mike shared with Today last year that his work involves getting ready for incredibly difficult tasks. He acknowledged it’s never simple, but emphasized that’s just part of the job, and he feels very fortunate.

Heidi Klum and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, dressed up as E.T. from the classic 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Klum told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in August 2025 that she really enjoyed being E.T., but the prop head was surprisingly difficult. “It was so heavy to hold up,” she explained, “it went from the back of my head to the front, and I thought my neck was going to break!”

Heidi was incredibly proud at her yearly party, and she’d hired nine people to dress up as the colorful feathers and claws of a peacock, creating a stunning visual effect.

Heidi Klum celebrated her 21st annual Halloween party – sponsored by Now Screaming X Prime Video and Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur – by revealing a creative worm costume. The America’s Got Talent judge is known for her elaborate Halloween looks!

After enjoying a night at Sake No Hana, Heidi changed into a nude sheer bedazzled jumpsuit.

The reality TV star shared on Instagram that Halloween will be different this year due to the coronavirus, but encouraged people to still have fun and be creative at home.

For her Halloween video, Heidi dressed up as a spooky mummy. It was just one of several scary costumes she showcased in the five-minute clip.

Heidi blended into her walls with this clever costume in 2020.

Heidi? Are you there? It was difficult to find her because she blended in perfectly with the blue and black patterned sheets.

The star’s costume was truly out of this world when she turned herself into a gory alien.

The supermodel dressed up as Fiona, the beloved green princess from Shrek. She’d wanted to do this for a long time, explaining to People magazine that she just needed someone equally enthusiastic to join her. That’s when her husband, Tom Kaulitz, stepped in.

One of the judges on America’s Got Talent had a blast dressing up as the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video. She said she really wanted to perform the dance from the video.

For Halloween this year, rather than dressing as a celebrity or character, the fashion expert created five identical versions of herself using prosthetics and amazing wigs.

Heidi who? The former Project Runway host answered only to Jessica Rabbit.

My kids were amazed when I transformed into a butterfly! They asked, ‘Mom, is that really you in there?’ she shared with TopMob News.

The actress told TopMob News that her children were frightened when she dressed up to look like an older version of herself.

Heidi gave Elizabeth Taylor a run for her money with this chic Cleopatra costume.

Here, Heidi Klum is pictured with her former husband, Seal, during what appears to be a much happier and more passionate time in their relationship.

The model, previously known for her work with Victoria’s Secret, had a strikingly sculpted physique. She first showcased this look at a party in Las Vegas on October 29th.

The model is tall, but not that tall. Heidi wore stilts to make this robot monstrosity more menacing.

It’s interesting to note that a group of crows is called a murder. This might be why the model decided to base her spooky costume around the bird. When she discovered the event’s backdrop was black, she decided to take control of the entire aesthetic. As she explained to People magazine, “Now I work on the background, too.” From that point on, she began designing everything – the backdrop, the carpet, and all the other details.

Heidi’s costume as the Hindu goddess of death and time, Kali, has since divided the internet.

Heidi’s ferocious feline doesn’t hold a creepy candle to the CGI in Cats.

She looks absolutely adorable in her costume, which is based on the story of Eve and the temptation of the forbidden fruit.

Eat your heart out—literally!

It’s a common misconception that all witches dress in black. This particular witch, for example, wore a delicate, lacy outfit and even included a realistic-looking skeleton she’d found at a medical supply shop.

Gladiator goddess or sci-fi dream? Either way, this vivacious look goes down as one of her best.

The former Victoria’s Secret model was red hot, as she channeled the iconic Betty Boop.

In her second year hosting, the star went full Lady Godiva—horse and all!

The model’s style has evolved over time, but for her first public appearance, she simply went as Heidi – the character from Johanna Spyri’s classic novels. She wore a dirndl, though it wasn’t a completely traditional one, and she did her own hair and makeup at the time, as she told People magazine.
