Initially, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice debuted exclusively on the PlayStation 4 for a limited time, striking a chord deeply within the community of PlayStation enthusiasts.
The game created by Ninja Theory, who is known for developing “Heavenly Sword,” resonated strongly with an audience that thrives on story-driven games similar to “Uncharted” and “The Last of Us.
However, with Microsoft acquiring the developer behind Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and designating it as a flagship title for the Xbox Series X|S, they simultaneously discontinued support for the initial PS4 version of the game.
This implies that although Senua’s initial adventure has been enhanced to utilize the capabilities of the Xbox next-generation console, there have been no enhancements made specifically for the PlayStation 5.
The changes will be implemented on 12th August, as the UK developer has decided to give the original version some attention at last.
On August 12th, an enhanced version of Senua’s Sacrifice tailored for the PlayStation 5 will debut simultaneously with its sequel. If you already own the game, this upgrade comes at no additional cost. Alternatively, you can buy both games together for $69.99.
Ninja Theory’s Will Potter explained on the Xbox Wire:
In this version, you’ll get the original soundtrack from Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice along with it. We believe this makes it an excellent deal for those just joining the franchise on PlayStation. If you’ve already played the PlayStation 4 release of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, you can upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost.
Based on a previous study by Digital Foundry, the latest version of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade offers numerous enhancements such as higher resolution settings, ray tracing, better shadow effects, among many others.

Indeed, it’s a delightful perk for all current owners, offering significant value – irrespective of whether you intend to purchase the subsequent version or not.
