Get ready, comrades! Reinforcements for Xbox are arriving, and Super Earth will need every single soldier in our ranks as we battle the Terminids with the upcoming update for Helldivers 2, a popular co-op game from PlayStation Studios.
On Tuesday, Arrowhead Game Studios disclosed that the next update is called “Into the Unjust.” As the name suggests, it focuses on us, the Helldivers, launching a direct assault against the Terminids and invading their Hive worlds, which they’ve recently made their new home.
Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust is scheduled to debut on September 2, 2025. This gives both seasoned players on PlayStation and PC, as well as newcomers on Xbox, just a short time to prepare for an enormous project.
Subterranean terror is unearthed
Venturing into the Terminid hive worlds exposes us to the enigmas veiled within the Gloom. To unravel these mysteries, Helldivers must delve beneath the surface and penetrate deep into the labyrinth of tunnels meticulously sculpted by the insectoids. This shift in locale alters our gameplay significantly, as aerial assaults are no longer an option when underground. Additionally, managing resources becomes crucial since conserving ammunition and health stimulants is paramount.
Daylight moments, scarce as they may be, present opportunities to request supplies. However, these will likely prove exceptions rather than the norm.
On numerous occasions, these tunnels are devoid of light, so it would be prudent to assign some team members with flashlights to shed light on potential dangers.
Furthermore, in addition to underground missions inside the hives, there will be surface assignments requiring us to maneuver large, cumbersome vehicles for oil collection while simultaneously defending the tanker from swarms of insects.
New threats lying in wait and flying above

Indeed, it’s not just the environmental threats we’re dealing with. This latest update brings some formidable new enemies into the Terminids’ fold, one of which is quite malicious.
The developers refer to the Dragonroach, as depicted in the image above, as a sort of airborne Bile Titan. It’s agile enough to swiftly traverse the skies and can unleash acidic vomit like an old bomber plane.
This creature is incredibly robust, so we’ll need powerful weapons at our disposal if we want any chance of driving it off or eliminating it.
Moreover, the developers hint at significant seismic activity taking place, with strong rumblings echoing across the planet, suggesting there’s something else lurking out there. Be careful, Helldivers.
More tools to get the job done

The upcoming Dust Devils Warbond, scheduled for release on September 4, introduces innovative equipment tailored for the perilous missions awaiting Helldivers in the Terminid hive worlds.
Highlights include the Coyote, an incendiary assault rifle, ideal for those who prefer to incinerate insectoid enemies when given the chance. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense introduces the Pineapple, a powerful cluster frag grenade that efficiently disposes of large swarms of enemies.
In terms of strategic options, now you can control a personal missile with laser-precise guidance using the MS-11 Solo Silo. Lastly, the new armor features the Desert Stormer passive effect, offering enhanced resistance to fire, gas, acid, and arc damage, a necessity given the hostile environments we’ll be encountering on these planets.

The new Helldivers 2, which includes a much-anticipated collaboration with Halo: ODST, has recently been released on Xbox Series X|S consoles. This crossover brings several weapons and armor from Halo into the game and is perfect for stealth missions. I’m looking forward to trying it out when I land on the bug planets in September.
By the way, Helldivers 2 is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (Steam), and PlayStation 5.
