The new year has arrived, and with it comes the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac. Sanrio is celebrating by releasing a special collectible featuring its beloved mascot.
The limited-edition “Hello Kitty 8” Year of the Horse 2026 Boxed Plush is a cute and collectible Sanrio toy. Dressed in special Zodiac-themed clothing, it’s part of an exclusive series created in collaboration with Jazwares. It’s a perfect way to celebrate the Lunar New Year, especially for fans of kawaii collectibles.
Sanrio Rings in the Year of the Horse With New 2026 Hello Kitty Plushie

This limited-edition Hello Kitty plush celebrates the Year of the Horse 2026! The 8-inch plushie features Hello Kitty dressed in a super-cute horse costume, complete with a horse head peeking out from her ears and a fluffy white tail. It’s an adorable collectible for Hello Kitty fans!
I noticed the costume was covered in flower designs, all done in vibrant red and gold – colors meant to bring good fortune and luck. A large red bow was prominently displayed on the chest, and interestingly, the number ‘2026’ was featured on the costume’s left foot. Even the official presentation box continued this theme, using the same rich red and gold colors.
This new toy is part of the Ultra-Premier collection, blending a soft, cuddly plush with high-quality materials and a unique design. Because it’s a limited-edition, themed item, it’s a must-have for fans of collectible plushies, especially those who love Hello Kitty. While it’s unknown if other characters will receive similar toys, there’s still plenty of time to celebrate the Year of the Horse, as these items often come out earlier in the year and there are eleven months left.
The limited-edition Hello Kitty 8″ Year of the Horse 2026 plush is available for pre-order on the Sanrio website, though it isn’t shipping just yet – it’s currently listed as “coming soon.” Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on this popular character.
