When Hello Kitty Island Adventure launched on Switch and PC in January 2025, it quickly became popular with fans of Animal Crossing. This charming game lets you make friends with and explore alongside beloved Sanrio characters. It’s a relaxing experience where you can collect items, decorate spaces, complete friendship-focused tasks, and unlock new areas as you play. The game received its first downloadable content pack, Wheatflour Wonderland, in September 2025, and now players have another reason to return to the world of Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
The popular game Hello Kitty Island Adventure is getting even bigger! Sunblink and Sanrio just announced the City Town DLC, a major expansion that adds a whole new city area to explore. Players can look forward to new shops, characters, and unlockable visitors when the DLC launches on April 16th for mobile, PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PS5.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure Announces New City Town DLC
I’m so excited about the new City Town DLC for Hello Kitty Island Adventure! It’s adding a whole new city area to explore, and it sounds massive! They’re saying there’s over 30 hours of new story content and a whopping 90 new quests to complete. Beyond that, I can’t wait to wander around the skyscrapers and try all the new city-themed recipes. Plus, USAHA*NA, the adorable bunny from Sanrio, is joining as a guide, which is amazing! You can build a friendship with her all the way up to Level 35 and unlock a ton of cool rewards along the way.
I’m so excited about the new USAHANA update! It looks like we’ll be able to renovate and manage our very own cafe, called the Imagination Cafe, as part of the City Town DLC. They’re adding tons of cute new treats like boba tea, mochi, and dango! But that’s not all – we’ll also be helping other Sanrio characters open up their own shops too, bringing the total to seven new places! From what I’ve seen in the trailer, we’ll be able to play some of the arcade games inside* Hello Kitty Island Adventure, which is amazing!
This update introduces a new area where you can design and decorate apartments in the Rainbow Tower. Attracting visitors to City Town will be easier if you create cozy living spaces. As you progress, you’ll encounter new characters like Pannya-chan and Buppyu-kun. Sunblink and Sanrio have hinted at a surprise guest appearance in this downloadable content, which is sure to spark excitement and speculation among Sanrio fans about who might be coming to the game.
The new ‘City Town’ downloadable content for Hello Kitty Island Adventure will be available on April 16th for PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. While the exact price isn’t known yet, the previous DLC, ‘Wheatflour Wonderland,’ cost $14.99, so this new expansion will probably be around the same price.
