Okay, so I’m really hyped for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival! It’s aiming for a 2026 release, and honestly, it looks way more promising than other horror game adaptations like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre or Friday the 13th: The Game. Those games were fun, but this one feels different. Saber Interactive, the team behind Evil Dead: The Game, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, and the upcoming John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, is making it. The big thing is, they’re ditching the whole asymmetrical multiplayer thing that worked for Evil Dead and those other slasher games. They’re going all-in on a really intense, story-driven single-player experience, and that’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for!
Slasher Radio recently interviewed Tim Willits, Creative Director at Saber Interactive, and got some exciting news about the new Pinhead game. Here’s why horror fans with a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or Steam account should be thrilled about Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival.
The Narrative Will Adhere to What Made the First Few Hellraiser Movies So Special

Let’s start with a quick overview of the story in Hellraiser: Revival. Here’s how Saber Interactive describes the game’s plot:
Enter a terrifying new installment in the iconic Hellraiser saga. Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival delivers a heart-pounding, first-person survival horror experience.
Experience the adventure of Aidan as he tries to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny, from a terrifying, otherworldly dimension called the Labyrinth. He’ll need to unlock the secrets of a powerful and enigmatic puzzle box – the Genesis Configuration – to succeed.
Use the box’s abilities to endure your deal with the notorious Pinhead and fight against the terrifying cult that worships the Cenobites.
It seems this game is heavily inspired by Hellbound: Hellraiser II, which many fans consider the strongest sequel in the series – and that’s great news! What made that sequel so compelling was the intense journey of the main character, Kirsty Cotton. She faced a new and equally challenging ordeal, building on the trauma of losing her father. This time, she’s lured into Hell to save him, only to discover the man responsible for his death – her uncle – is already there.
Willits explained that the developers selected Hellraiser as their next horror property because it allows for a compelling and deeply personal story for the main character—a challenging and complex experience. This focus on individual torment is what made the original Hellraiser films so strong, setting them apart from later installments (though Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth still has some enjoyable qualities).
Fans of the franchise might be concerned the gameplay could become repetitive. Constantly running from the Cenobites in a hellish environment will likely get old quickly. However, the developers assure us that the game won’t be limited to just that. They’ve designed it with a variety of enemies, including Cenobites and other monsters, to keep things interesting.
Clive Barker & Doug Bradley’s Involvement

Okay, so the last Hellraiser movie I saw Doug Bradley as Pinhead was way back in 2005 – Hellraiser: Hellworld. Honestly, it wasn’t great, even though a young Henry Cavill was in it, and it felt like a pretty sad way for him to finish playing Pinhead. He did get to voice Pinhead again in some Dead by Daylight DLC, but that’s not available anymore because of licensing stuff. But this new thing? This feels like the real deal – his first time truly back as Pinhead after over twenty years!
Bradley is reprising his famous role in Revival, and he’s not the only one closely involved. According to Willits, Clive Barker, the creator of the series, has been quick to offer feedback, even making changes to the design, adding to the story, and enriching the Cenobites’ background.
