Here’s How Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Holds Up on the $1,000 ROG Xbox Ally X

Gaming is becoming more accessible across different devices, and the ROG Xbox Ally is a great example of this trend. It’s a handheld PC designed with Xbox fans in mind, breaking down the traditional boundaries between gaming platforms.

This collaboration between Microsoft and Asus delivers a high-end device with powerful performance in a compact design. The Xbox branding gives it an authentic, official look and feel.

Technically, it’s not an Xbox, but Microsoft considers it one. Plus, you can play Sony games that have been released for PC on this system.

So, how does it fare?

The tech analysis channel ElAnalistaDeBits recently published a video comparing the performance of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on three different devices: the Steam Deck, the ROG Ally X, and the PlayStation 5 (running in performance mode).

Comparing the two, this device generally performs much better than the Steam Deck. While the PlayStation 5 version offers the best graphics – with sharper resolution, more detailed visuals, and improved effects – the ROG Ally X is surprisingly close in quality.

It’s interesting to consider devices like this because there’s talk that the PlayStation 6 might come in two versions: a standard home console and a portable, handheld version similar to the Steam Deck or Ally.

Okay, so we don’t know for sure yet, and everything I’m hearing is still just speculation, but I’m starting to think about whether I’ll want a handheld PS6 when it eventually comes out. It’s something to keep in the back of my mind, I guess!
