I’m so excited! Hideo Kojima just dropped the first poster for his new spy-action game coming to PlayStation. We don’t know exactly which consoles it’ll be on yet, but it’s probably coming to both the PS5 and, potentially, the next-gen PS6!
Although we don’t know when it will be released or what it’s about, Hideo Kojima recently gave a quick update on the game’s progress during a live broadcast.
Because of the recent SAG-AFTRA strike, development on the game was delayed, and casting is still underway. That’s why the main character remains a mystery in this poster.
Charlee Fraser, known for her role in ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,’ will appear with Don Lee, famous from ‘Train to Busan,’ and Minami Hamabe, who starred in ‘Godzilla Minus One.’
Kojima Productions is still collaborating with 3Lateral to create realistic digital faces for the actors in their projects, and they’ve shared a first look at a digital model of Minami Hamabe.
Kojima had previously discussed the challenges of realistically portraying Japanese characters in his games, and mentioned his team was addressing this. These recent developments appear to be the outcome of that effort.
It’s still early days for this project. When PHYSINT was first revealed, it seemed like a movie might be part of it, potentially with Sony Pictures Entertainment involved. However, Kojima didn’t say much more about that possibility.
