Hideo Kojima’s Physint is Currently in the “Conceptual Stage”

Following the successful launch and critical praise for “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” everyone is undoubtedly curious about Kojima Productions’ upcoming ventures. One of these projects includes a horror game, titled “OD, which is being published by Xbox Game Studios.” Additionally, there’s “Physint“, a collaboration with PlayStation that hints at Hideo Kojima re-entering the action espionage genre.

Kojima has made it clear that the development of Death Stranding 2 will likely span five to six years, as it’s currently in a conceptual phase. In an interview with Indiewire, he mentioned that shortly after Death Stranding 2’s release, he plans on analyzing player data from around the world – including weapon preferences, travel routes, and potential bugs – to determine areas for improvement and necessary fixes.

I’m joining the team for our latest project, OD, as it’s just getting started. Simultaneously, I’m handling Physint alone since it’s still at the conceptual stage. On top of that, I have daily interviews and various promotional activities such as photo-shootings. To be honest, with all these commitments, I haven’t had the chance to complete Death Stranding 2 yet.

It’s intriguing to note that given Death Stranding recently came out with a Director’s Cut featuring additional missions, tools, gizmos, and upgrades, it might be possible, although not confirmed, for a similar update to appear in the future, even though there are currently no plans for a sequel to receive downloadable content.

Regarding Physint, they encountered some difficulties last year because of the SAG-AFTRA strike, but fortunately, this issue has been resolved now. Keep an eye out for future updates over the next few months and possibly even years.
