It’s been confirmed that HIDIVE will be a co-producer for the eagerly awaited “Petals of Reincarnation” anime adaptation. The announcement for this anime adaptation came in August 2024, marking the tenth anniversary of Mikihisa Konishi’s manga. “Petals of Reincarnation” initially started publishing in Meg Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade in May 2014 and has since released 21 volumes over a period of 11 years. The manga moved from Comic Blade to Mag Comi in 2015, and currently boasts over 3 million copies in circulation. HIDIVE is an anime and Japanese media streaming platform owned by AMC Networks, offering one of the biggest selections of anime in the industry, with programs distributed by Sentai Filmworks.
The anime version of “Oshi no Ko” is one of HIDIVE’s top successes, debuting with unprecedented viewership figures for their streaming platform. Moreover, HIDIVE has an agreement with Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), giving them exclusive rights to stream a portion of MBS’ programming in regions beyond Asia. In contrast, the adaptation of “Petals of Reincarnation” doesn’t have any anime studio linked or disclosed yet. The manga publisher, Meg Garden, hasn’t set a specific release date for the anime either. Notably, key visuals such as a poster were released in conjunction with the official announcement of the anime.
