HIDIVE Is Losing These Three Popular Anime to Start 2025

The fierce competition among streaming services for anime content is at its peak. While Crunchyroll remains the dominant platform dedicated solely to anime, competitors like Netflix, Hulu, MAX, and others are making their presence felt in the anime world. HIDIVE, too, has been striving to establish a niche for itself by specializing exclusively in anime content, much like Crunchyroll. However, it’s worth mentioning that HIDIVE announced that three prominent series will be leaving its platform this month, so if you’re a subscriber, it would be wise to watch these shows before they disappear from the service.

HIDIVE started back in 2017, growing to host numerous anime series following the split of “The Anime Network.” In 2022, AMC Networks purchased HIDIVE, consistently increasing its content library. Despite shutting down access in certain countries beyond the U.S., it’s also secured some highly anticipated exclusives. One of the most significant exclusive titles is undoubtedly “Oshi No Ko,”, a dark idol anime that gained massive popularity upon release on the platform. Additionally, HIDIVE has been home to other popular series like “Call of The Night, Eminence in Shadow“, and “Akiba Maid Wars“.

Bye Bye HIDIVE

According to an official statement, HIDIVE announced that the series “Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible,” “Giant Beasts of ARS,” and “Spy Classroom” will be removed from their platform on January 15th. Among these three, it’s worth noting that “Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible” is a heartfelt high school romance in which the protagonist, Junta, finds himself encouraged by Kubo to perform increasingly daring acts to gain recognition at school.

In 2023, the “Spy Classroom” made an early appearance, housing a band of former spy school misfits given a shot at redemption through perilous missions to validate their abilities. On another note, “Beasts of ARS” presents a gripping tale where mankind battles colossal beasts in a struggle for existence, bearing a resemblance to “Attack on Titan.” However, no news is out yet about whether these series will find a new platform in the streaming battlefield or if this could be our final opportunity to watch them.
