If you’ve found the BALL Gun in your High on Life 2 base and it doesn’t seem to work, you’re probably curious why it’s there.
This weapon first appeared in the ‘High on Knife’ DLC for the original game, but it’s trickier to unlock in High on Life 2. The three little blue guys – the BALL Guys – who power it have disappeared!
Locating the BALL Guys requires some searching, as each one is connected to a separate side quest you might miss if you don’t know where to find them.
This device launches balls like a pinball machine, and it comes with three helpers to load them – but you’ll need to locate them first! The BALL Gun is excellent for managing groups of enemies. It lets you deploy three bumpers that bounce the balls around, allowing you to hit several enemies with a single shot.
Our video guide shows you where to find all the BALL Guys (you can also watch it on YouTube). Use the timestamps below to easily locate and collect each one.

High on Life 2 BALL Guys locations: How to get the BALL Gun explained
Okay, so you can’t just find the Ball Guys by playing through the main story – that’s a bummer! You actually have to complete specific side quests to unlock them. Luckily, I’ve got all the info you need right here to help you find and complete each one. Let’s get started!
Ball Guy 1 location in High on Life 2

You’ll find Ball Guy 1 in the Town area of the Harbour. Drive there in the RV. Once you arrive, turn right, and you’ll see the brown building with the curved roof – that’s where he is.
To get into this nightclub, you’ll need to use Bowie’s unique ability. If Bowie isn’t unlocked yet, it means you haven’t collected all the necessary guns in High on Life 2 – you’ll need to progress further in the main story before you can start this side quest.
Once inside the club, go to the far right and talk to the people at the DJ booth to begin a dance battle. This rhythm game, similar to Guitar Hero, is quick to complete, and you’ll receive Ball Guy 1 as a prize.
Ball Guy 2 location in High on Life 2

Ball Guy 2 is in the City Plaza area downtown. Drive the RV there, and when you arrive, go up the stairs immediately to your right (as shown in the picture).
When you reach the top of the stairs, turn right and keep going until you see a taxi driver who needs assistance. Accepting his request will start your journey to rescue Ball Guy 2.
The taxi driver will ask you to give rides to passengers around town. You’ll need to search the Downtown area to find them – we found six in total, and it was okay even if we didn’t manage to pick up everyone.
After you finish up, head back to the taxi driver – he’ll be waiting where you first found him. He’ll give you one last task, and if you complete it, he’ll reward you with Ball Guy 2 for all your wild taxi driving!
How to get the fishing rod in High on Life 2

To unlock Ball Guy 3, you first need to obtain the fishing rod – which is actually a character named Rod. If you already have Rod, feel free to jump ahead to the next part of this guide.
In High on Life 2, you can find the fishing rod in the Harbour region, on the Beach. Drive there with the RV, and once you arrive, check the image for guidance. You’ll need to jump over a small body of water to reach the fisherman who has it.
Okay, so you need to talk to this fisherman, and he’ll immediately ask you to help him get his boat unstuck. Then, you’ll use Travis’s power – the one that lets you launch things – to send the boat flying up and out of whatever’s holding it. After you do that, he’s super grateful and gives you the fishing rod, though it’s clear he’s really sad to part with it – it sounds like it meant a lot to him!
Ball Guy 3 location in High on Life 2

You can find Ball Guy 3 at the Zoo, and your search begins at the Gift Shop. Once inside, go to the location marked on the map – it’s in the bottom right corner where the player is shown.
You’ll find a good fishing spot in the lower right corner of the map. Fish there with Rod until you catch a Ball Guy. We usually find him as the third golden fish at that location.
If you’re just starting to fish in High on Life 2, here’s a helpful tip: when the fish is almost caught, quickly move both thumbsticks on your controller back and forth. It might feel awkward at first, but it becomes much easier with practice.
Now that you’ve collected all three Ball Guys, getting the Ball Gun is easy. Just go back to your room and check the tank by the whiteboard – the gun is sitting right on top!
Now you can have some real fun with this awesome weapon! We hope you think earning it was worth the work. If you’re interested in learning more about High on Life 2, be sure to read our in-depth interview with the game’s creators.
