Do you remember Highguard? This free-to-play shooter, created by the team behind Titanfall and Apex Legends, was one of the last major announcements at The Game Awards last month. The announcement received a mixed reaction, with some players feeling tired of games that are constantly updated with new content. Since then, the developer, Wildlight Entertainment, hasn’t shared any new information about the game. This is unusual because Highguard is scheduled to launch near the end of January, and the lack of updates is leading players to worry that the release date might be delayed.
Recently, some social media users have begun to worry that the game Highguard might be facing difficulties. This concern isn’t just due to the fact that Wildlight Entertainment hasn’t shared any updates in about a month, but also because many players didn’t like what they saw in the first trailer. It’s possible Wildlight is taking time to refine the game based on that feedback and will announce it again later. While there’s no evidence to support this, people are still asking a lot of questions about the game’s progress.
Does anyone else realize Highguard is scheduled to release in three weeks? They showed a trailer at The Game Awards, but haven’t said anything since, which is a really bad sign. I haven’t seen a game with so little buzz around it since Concord.

Is Highguard Going to Get Delayed?
Is the release of Highguard likely to be delayed? I don’t think so. It’s common for game companies to be less active in December as employees take holiday time. Wildlight is probably the same, meaning the Highguard team likely hadn’t been focused on the final launch preparations until they returned to work this week.
It’s odd that we haven’t heard anything about Highguard in the last month. While we expect to see new trailers and gameplay soon, the lack of updates on social media is a little strange. This doesn’t necessarily mean the game is delayed, so it’s probably just speculation at this point.
Just a heads-up, Highguard is dropping on January 26th! I’m super excited – it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. I’ll keep checking ComicBook for any more news about it and will let you know if I find anything cool.
