The last six weeks have been busy for the team at Wildlight Entertainment and their game, Highguard, particularly after its debut at The Game Awards. Now, the game is finally available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with lots of new content to explore. However, the success of any free-to-play game depends on ongoing support. So, what does the future hold for Highguard?
The developers have big plans, according to their recently released roadmap. The game is currently launching with Episode 1. Next month, Episode 2 will begin rolling out, starting with a new playable character (Warden), a new map, a new mount, and a Ranked Mode. In March, they’ll add a new base and a tool for raids, giving players even more ways to strategize.
The game will receive regular updates over the next few months. Episode 3 arrives in April, introducing a new Warden, weapon, and customization options. In May, players can expect a new base, amulets, and more loot. Episode 4 will follow in June with similar additions, and in July, Part 2 of Episode 4 will add a special, limited-time game mode.
Keep an eye on episodes 6 and 7 – they’re expected to have some exciting surprises! We’re not just talking about new features like player-versus-environment challenges or game modes; there’s more to come. We’ll share more details soon, so stay tuned!
