Hoda Kotb and ex Joel Schiffman are co-parenting goals.
Hoda Kotb, who left Today in January, shared a heartwarming Christmas morning photo with her daughters, Hope, 6, and Haley, 8. Her mom and sister were also in the picture, and the whole family wore matching green pajamas, with the adults adding festive mini Santa headbands. Everyone was smiling!
The former couple, who ended their engagement in 2022 after being together for eight years, frequently get together for holidays and other special events. Last November, Hoda posted a photo on Instagram of one of these gatherings – a relaxed “Funday Sunday” dinner where they enjoyed pizza, pasta, fruit, and other family-friendly food.
Even though Hoda and Joel broke up, she’s often said she still cares for him, even though they never got married.
I was listening to Hoda on Today with Savannah, and she shared something really powerful. She said she had a big realization at a recent retreat – that you can deeply love someone, even continue to love them, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re meant to be together. It really resonated with me, because it feels so true to life.
Despite everything, she doesn’t regret anything, because Joel was there for her when she adopted her daughters, and they raised them together.
Hoda shared in 2022 that she and her ex-partner have two wonderful children together. She explained that she wouldn’t have Haley and Hope without him, and she likely wouldn’t have become a mother if she hadn’t had his support.

Her life is so different now because of him, and her family is her top priority.
I had my children later in life, and I realized they deserved more of my time and attention,” she explained on Today last year. “We all have a limited amount of time, and while my career has been incredibly fulfilling, I want to focus more on my daughters and my mother, who deserve a bigger priority in my life moving forward.”
