Hoda Kotb & Ex Joel Schiffman Reunite for Family Time With Their Kids

Home is where Hoda Kotb’s heart is.

Savannah Guthrie, formerly of Today, spent time with her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman, and their daughters, Hayley, 8, and Hope, 6, for a family get-together after Halloween.

The ex-couple, who split in 2022 after being together for eight years, were seen having a meal with their daughters. They shared pepperoni pizza, grilled chicken, sandwiches, pasta, and fruit at the dining table.

Hoda shared a sweet photo on Instagram on November 3rd of her daughters hugging their father, Joel, who was all smiles. A third picture featured Hoda’s puppy, Waffles, relaxing in the grass among autumn leaves.

Hoda, who is 61 years old, clearly had a great time relaxing and connecting with someone, as she shared a post saying, “Funday Sunday!”

Since their breakup, Hoda and Joel have worked hard to be good co-parents. Hoda continues to speak positively about Joel, even outside of their roles as parents to Hayley and Hope.

In an August 2024 interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, she described Joel as a wonderful person. She added that while she considers herself a good person too, sometimes even two people with those qualities aren’t enough to sustain a relationship.

Plus, Hoda has credited her former partner for playing a pivotal role in making her a mom.

She told People magazine in July that she shares two wonderful children with her ex-partner. She credits him with giving her the courage to become a mother, saying she likely wouldn’t have had her daughters, Haley and Hope, if she hadn’t met him.

Hoda often speaks highly of her ex-husband’s abilities as a father, and recently shared a heartfelt message to him on Father’s Day.

She shared a sweet Instagram photo of Joel with their daughters and wished him a happy Father’s Day, writing, “Happy Father’s Day Joel!” and adding, “A great Father’s Day for a great dad!”

Halloween was a success again this year! Hoda and her daughter celebrated as their Sesame Street characters, continuing a sweet tradition.
