Hold On, Is the US Really Avoiding Recession? Or Are We Just Delaying the Inevitable? 🤔

US Dollar at a Crossroads

Alright, so JPMorgan’s chief global strategist, David Kelly, comes out all serious and says, “Yeah, maybe no recession. Or maybe yes. Who knows?” Great. Just what we needed, a little more confusion. Like we’re not already confused enough. 🙄

He’s telling us that tariffs and some other economic stuff might slow down the country’s economy. Big news, right? Like we didn’t see that coming. Meanwhile, the economy might be strong enough to dodge the bullet—just a little slower, like a grandma trying to cross the street without getting run over.

“No, we’re not seeing impacts now,” Kelly says, probably holding back a laugh. “Tariffs, taxes, stimulus here, delay there… Basically, the economy is playing a game of delay tactics. It’s like, ‘You want a recession? Nope, not today!’ But it’s gonna crawl along, folks.”

“The economy’s got some resilience, but don’t get too comfy,” he adds, like announcing a storm but saying, “It’s just a little rain.” Consumers? Oh, they’re feeling the squeeze, probably signing up for more student loans as we speak. Inflation? Yeah, that’s coming too. Good times! 🎉

“People are resilient, but if you keep squeezing them like a lemon, they might just quit,” he warns. Or go bananas. Basically, we’re just delaying the inevitable recession sitcom, folks. Stay tuned!
