
Team Cherry is releasing an updated version of Hollow Knight for Nintendo Switch in 2026. Current owners of the game on Switch will receive the upgrade at no cost.
The next Nintendo Switch will take full advantage of improvements made to Hollow Knight: Silksong, offering smoother gameplay with faster frame rates, sharper visuals with higher resolutions, and enhanced graphics.
Before the Switch 2 launches, Team Cherry is updating the original Hollow Knight on all existing platforms with new features and bug fixes. PC players can try out many of these improvements right now through public beta versions on Steam and GOG. Here are some of the new features available in the beta:
- Added support for 21:9 and 16:10 resolutions.
- Game now pauses while in inventory menus.
- Upgraded to Unity Input System for broader controller support (original input system is still available, if preferred, via Options>Controller>Advanced Settings).
- Added dithering effect, and dithering options, to reduce color banding.
- Fixed a softlock in City of Tears Grub room.
- Reduced Grey Prince Zote’s stagger bounce height.
- Salubra’s Blessing now deactivates after reaching max Soul.
- Map panning is now smoother
- Various smaller fixes and tweaks.
Hollow Knight is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG.
