With the anticipation building for Hollow Knight: Silksong, many speculations have surfaced regarding its potential cost, considering its lengthy development process. Nevertheless, GameStop temporarily posted the Nintendo Switch edition at $19.99, although this listing has since been taken down.
According to reports by leaker billbil-kun on Dealabs, Team Cherry has yet to confirm or deny the pricing, but it’s been suggested that the price for the Steam version might be the same across all platforms available in the United States. If these reports are accurate, European customers may pay €19.50 instead.
In a nutshell, the new game costs slightly more than Hollow Knight, which initially retailed for $15. Given Hollow Knight’s extensive length, frequent free updates, and highly praised critical reception, many believed it was significantly undervalued at its original price. However, whether the sequel maintains this trend, particularly since Team Cherry stated that the world in the new game is “equally large or even larger” than the first one, remains to be determined.
In addition to the Nintendo Switch and PC platforms, “Hollow Knight: Silksong” is set to debut on September 4th. This game will also be playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and a new version of the Nintendo Switch (if available). It’s worth mentioning that it will be accessible on Game Pass from day one as well.
