Hollow Knight: Silksong was released last month and has been a huge success, earning excellent reviews and selling very well. After a long development period, the game lived up to the high expectations of fans, delivering another enjoyable experience. While the game features many bugs, these are intentional parts of the world – characters and enemies – not technical problems. Fortunately, the developers at Team Cherry are actively working to fix any actual glitches and issues, releasing a new update on October 13th that resolves several key problems, including a frustrating issue with controller support.
Update 1.0.28891 for *Hollow Knight: Silksong* is a small but important fix. Players using controllers were experiencing disconnect issues, and the game wouldn’t pause when they happened. This was especially frustrating in *Hollow Knight*, a challenging game where even a brief interruption can lead to failure. This new patch resolves the problem by automatically pausing the game whenever your controller disconnects from your computer.
This update addresses a number of issues, and while it includes a significant fix, it’s just one of many improvements for *Hollow Knight: Silksong* fans. A large portion of the changes focus on controller support – the DualSense Edge controller now works, and several other controllers should perform much better on Mac. The developers at Team Cherry are also planning further controller fixes, so if you’re still experiencing problems, they’re continuing to work on it.
Beyond improvements to controller support, the latest update includes around thirty bug fixes. These fixes address a variety of issues, from small damage increases for certain attacks to a problem that could freeze the game during a specific cutscene. The developers at Team Cherry plan to release more updates for *Silksong* in the coming months, so players can anticipate further small patches like this one.
