Team Cherry is releasing an upgraded version of Hollow Knight for the Nintendo Switch 2. Announced during the recent Nintendo Direct, this new edition will take advantage of the Switch 2’s better hardware to offer improved performance and graphics. And good news for fans – Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available to download now on the Nintendo eShop!
Similar to the planned upgrade for Hollow Knight: Silksong on the Switch, owners of the original Hollow Knight game on Switch will receive the update at no cost.
I first got into Hollow Knight way back in 2017 when it came out, and then later on Switch. It really grabbed me because it blends exploration and a huge, interconnected world with that challenging, deliberate combat you see in games like Dark Souls. The story isn’t just handed to you either – you have to piece it together as you explore, which I really dig.
In this game, you play as the Knight, exploring the ruined kingdom of Hallownest to uncover the secrets of their past. It’s been highly praised by critics and has also been a commercial hit.
I was so thrilled when they announced a sequel to Hollow Knight – Hollow Knight: Silksong! And it totally lived up to the hype, getting amazing reviews. It’s been a huge success too, with over 7 million copies sold as of December – that’s incredible!
