Police were present at the scene, and both reportedly died from injuries that appeared to be caused by knives. Reiner began his entertainment career in 1967 as a writer and actor. He initially gained recognition writing with Steve Martin for The Smothers Brothers and later as a cast member on the sitcom All in the Family.
