As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement! The legendary author behind the heartwarming shonen romantic comedy manga, Horimiya, has graced us with a fresh series on July 28th, 2025. This masterpiece was beautifully illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara and was serialized in GFantasy from 2011 to 2021. Over the years, it amassed an enormous fanbase that grew fonder with each passing chapter.
The manga even inspired a fantastic anime adaptation by CloverWorks in January 2021, mere months before wrapping up its 122-chapter run. Unfortunately, the anime version only managed to adapt the entire story into just 13 episodes. But fear not! In 2023, CloverWorks released a side story titled Horimiya: Piece, filling in the gaps left by the main series.
Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is here – HERO’s new series, Room Where Voice Falls, delves into the cohabitation of two former high school classmates who reconnect after years apart. I can hardly wait to immerse myself in this captivating tale!
Following the commencement of the manga’s official publication, the author expressed his excitement on his official platform, “I’ve read the first chapter of this new series around 80 times because I’m so eager about it!” In another post, HERO acknowledged the readers, saying, “Thank you for reading it promptly! I can’t wait to hear your feedback! You can find the first chapter in Weekly Spirits, Bic Comic, and Manga One.” At present, the manga is only accessible in Japanese, and the English release date remains undisclosed. Room Where Voices Fall will be published weekly, every Monday.
What Is the Plot of Room Where Voices Fall?
Kagurazaka Itaru, an artist employed by a corporation, finds himself juggling a stressful job and a demanding supervisor. Overwhelmed by his busy life, he receives a friend request from his old high school acquaintance Fumiya Oji. Fumiya shares that he’s been targeted by a stalker and is currently recognized as a streamer for his soothing voice. Despite not being overly excited, Kagurazaka feels compelled to help Fumiya in his time of need and offers him temporary shelter until the harassment stops.
Surprisingly, while Fumiya was streaming to an audience of women, Kagurazaka found himself listening to his comforting voice. Being burdened with his own troubles, the artist finds solace in hearing those supportive words spoken by Fumiya. You can explore the Japanese manga version on Big Comic Bros’ official platform. Additionally, the Big Comic Spirits Editorial Department’s X handle presents two side characters: Akiko Muko, Kagurazaka’s neighbor, and Emiro Shono, his superior at work who frequently makes unreasonable demands.
For the first time, HERO is teaming up with artist Tsutsuji Takahashi for a new series. Notably, Shogakukan, one of Japan’s largest publishing firms, will now be handling publication duties instead of the previous publisher. The upcoming series, titled “Room Where Voices Fall“, marks HERO’s third project following the conclusion of Horimiya, which includes “Terasu Hikari wa Ani no Omokage“, a manga that was published in just three chapters in 2024. Besides this, HERO is also publishing another Boy’s Love manga, “Takamatsu-kun, Ima Nan Percent?” illustrated by Aki Arata. This manga began serialization in Magazine Be x Boy in April 2025 and is still ongoing as of now.
