Alan Ritchson was naturally a big and tall man, but to fully embody the character of Jack Reacher, he needed to gain weight. When he was first cast, Ritchson weighed 205 pounds, so he had to gain 30 pounds to meet their expectations.

Paulie Masserella, the imposing guard at Beck’s property, is described as being six inches taller than Jack Reacher in the novel Persuader. Reacher had to physically fight and defeat Paulie to finally bring Beck down, which was a significant challenge given the actor cast in the role: Olivier Richters, who was the world’s tallest professional bodybuilder in 2021.
