How Avengers: Doomsday Star Dies in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle (And It’s a Waste)

The new film, *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle*, features an actor from *Avengers: Doomsday*, but his character’s early exit feels like a missed opportunity for the series. Since its release in Japan this summer, *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle* has been incredibly popular, breaking box office records. Now that it’s available in the United States, the film aims to achieve even greater success.

The English dub of *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle* is generating excitement, especially with the addition of Channing Tatum – known for his roles in *Deadpool & Wolverine* and *Avengers: Doomsday* – to the voice cast. While this is a big step for the *Demon Slayer* franchise, his character doesn’t survive the movie. This is a shame, as fans were hoping he might return for future installments in the trilogy. Spoiler alert: The following contains major spoilers for *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle*!

How Avengers: Doomsday’s Channing Tatum Dies in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

The addition of Channing Tatum to the English dub cast of *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle* may seem unexpected, but Tatum has publicly shared his enthusiasm for the series. He’s previously attended *Demon Slayer* movie premieres, even dressing up in cosplay, and has discussed how he and his daughter both enjoy watching the anime together. It’s exciting to see a well-known Hollywood actor like Tatum involved in a dub like this.

As an anime fan, it’s awesome to see Channing Tatum get involved with *Demon Slayer*! We’ve definitely seen actors lend their voices to Studio Ghibli films before, but this feels different. *Demon Slayer* is a huge deal right now – it’s one of the most popular anime series out there. Unlike Ghibli films which often get awards recognition, *Demon Slayer* is more like a true blockbuster anime, and having Tatum involved just elevates it to a whole new level of mainstream appeal. It’s a really exciting moment for the franchise and for anime fans like me!

Channing Tatum’s involvement will attract more viewers to the English dub of *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle*, and also draw attention to the anime’s voice actors making their film debuts. While he’s a major addition to the cast, his role is limited to this one movie, as his character dies during the film’s events. It’s a shame he won’t be in future installments of the trilogy, but he does have a substantial part to play in bringing this story to life.

Who Does Channing Tatum Play in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle?

In *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle*, Channing Tatum voices Keizo, a significant character from Akaza’s past. The movie features an intense battle between Akaza and Tanjiro Kamado with Giyu Tomioka, during which Akaza is overwhelmed by memories of his human life. He discovers his animosity towards Tanjiro stems from Tanjiro reminding him of Keizo, the master who originally trained him in combat.

Keizo rescued and trained Akaza, giving him a purpose and even intending for Akaza to eventually inherit his dojo and marry his daughter. However, tragedy struck when Keizo and his daughter were poisoned by a rival dojo. This painful event deeply shaped Akaza’s past, and it was understanding this history that allowed Tanjiro to defeat him. Losing the motivation he gained from Keizo’s family ultimately weakened Akaza’s will to continue fighting as a demon.

Okay, so I really enjoyed Tatum’s performance as Keizo – he was in a lot of the movie, which was great! But honestly, I felt a little cheated that they killed him off so quickly in a flashback. It just felt… wasteful. I get that this series seems to be wrapping up, so maybe they were limited on who they could introduce, but Tatum is a fantastic actor and I would’ve loved to see his character stick around longer.
