This painful event deeply shaped Akaza’s past, and it was understanding this history that allowed Tanjiro to defeat him. Losing the motivation he gained from Keizo’s family ultimately weakened Akaza’s will to continue fighting as a demon.

Okay, so I really enjoyed Tatum’s performance as Keizo – he was in a lot of the movie, which was great! But honestly, I felt a little cheated that they killed him off so quickly in a flashback. It just felt… wasteful. I get that this series seems to be wrapping up, so maybe they were limited on who they could introduce, but Tatum is a fantastic actor and I would’ve loved to see his character stick around longer.
